Mom finds out

    by: Morphology Author IconMail Icon
Feeling a vibration coming from his pocket, Josh pulled out his phone to see that his Mom had texted him. "We will need to start heading home, Jenn." He replied while putting his phone away. "My Mom is needing some help tonight with a small project and I totally forgot about it." He explained while offering an apologetic look. Saying goodbye to Josh's hair donor, Emily, the two of them got into the car and started to head home.

Almost expertly putting his hair behind his ear to get it out of his way, Josh started to back out of the parking spot. Jenn, still not believing the amazing power that her boyfriend had been given glanced over at him. "If I haven't known you most of my life, I would have guessed that Emily's hair is your own."

Not really knowing how to take it, Josh just chuckled. "Well, I've grown up in a house with mostly females that I picked up a lot of stuff from them, I guess." He replied with a shrug of his shoulders. The rest of the ride home was Jenn telling Josh what she wanted to try and, in turn, Josh telling her no with each idea.

Looking back over at his girlfriend, Josh could see her puffing out her cheeks in frustration. "You never want to have any fun." Her frustration could only make Josh chuckle but before long, Josh was parked in front of Jenn's home and he gave her a quick kiss and started to make his way over to his house.

Taking a quick look around the car and thinking it would be best to hide his new problem for now, he tried to find something to cover up his new hair. A quick search of the car yielded a knit cap. Taking a quick smell to see if it smelled okay, Josh didn't find it smelling too foul. Thinking about the best way to stuff inside, the gathered his hair up in a pony tail on top of his head and stuffed it inside his head. Deciding that he looks good enough, he took in a deep breath and started to make his way inside. The cold wind started to blow and made him glad that he was wearing the knit cap on his head.

Opening the door, one of Josh's worst nightmares played out. "I know you're not walking into my house with that hat on your head." Josh's Mom growled as she watched him walk through the door. Kim Mitchell grew up in a military household and she had always been strict with the no hats on in the house. Even growing up, she would make him and his sisters take off their hats from the baseball/softball games before walking inside. Groaning and knowing that he wasn't going to win he took off the knit cap. Hearing a giggle, Josh looked perplexedly over to his Mom. "While your at it, you can take that wig off too." Continuing her look over him, she tried to take a strand of it in her hands and her eyes nearly bugged out of her head. "This isn't a wig is it?" She asked him.

Shaking his head, Josh started to explain what was going on. How he met the little man who gave him the gift, if you can call it that, and how Emily put in a hair clip. "It seemed important enough to allow this to happen." He said lifting up portion of the new hair to help emphasize the point.

Giggling a little at her son's predicament. "Well, you always wanted longer hair when you were younger. Remember when you were 13 and you decided not to get a haircut so you could be cooler." Thinking back to when he was younger, he nodded his head. "You lasted maybe 2 or 3 months before you begged me to take you to the barber to get it taken off. So perhaps this new gift of yours can help you out a little." She replied gesturing once more towards his hair.

Thinking about it for a moment, his Mom was right. For the longest time, he had tried to do certain thins with his hair and this may be the best way to try new things, even if it had to be something from the opposite sex. Hearing his Mom clear her throat, Josh looked back over at his Mom who was wanting to continue with asking him something, but didn't really know how to go about it. "What is it?" He asked.

Still feeling a little uncomfortable with what she was about to ask, she took in a deep breath. "If I let you off of doing chores for a month, do you mind putting something on so that I can see it work?" She asked testing the waters to see if she can see it work. "I will let you choose from a couple things that I find and you put it on." Thinking about it for a moment, Josh decided that he wouldn't spending some extra time with Jenn and not doing any chores for a month would really help, so in the end he agreed. Nodding his head, Kim giggled as she excitedly left the room.

It certainly didn't take long before she walked back into the room holding a variety of clothes. "I can't choose anything myself?" He asked looking at the pile of clothes that his Mom deposited onto the sofa.

Kim shook her head. "No, if I let you choose, then it wouldn't really be an experience. The things that I grabbed for you to try are ranging in sizes and ages in life." She looked down at the sofa that the various clothes rested on. "So if you want to do it, pick one of the items here."

In the end, Josh chose....
