A mischievous look came across her face as she aimed the remote over at him clicked a button and then brought it over to herself and clicked the same button once more. As she pressed the button the second time a flash enveloped them both, which came a sudden shock to Lily as she dropped the remote onto the carpet. Once he was able to see once more, Josh started to rub his eyes to help him see sooner, but he felt off. "Oh my gosh." Lily's voice called out in excitement and he heard a pounding of footsteps somewhere but didn't know where she went.
The spots in his vision slowly began to disappear and when he saw his hands, they looked smaller. Turning them around, he noticed the clear polish with what looked to be small holographic flakes which reflected the light in various colors. It seemed to be chipped in places here and there and generally looked. Looking over his body once more, he could feel the jeans that he was wearing earlier that day, but they felt off too. It was almost like they were hugging his legs much like they were several sizes too small. "What the hell!" Josh shouted while dropping the gaming remote in his hand. Feeling his heart beating faster, he jumped off of the bed and hurriedly ran over to the mirror and felt the skirt that he was wearing swishing with each step he took.
Standing in front of the mirror, Josh was speechless. It seems that when Lily had the remote, she swapped her body from the neck down over to him. His head, with the shorter hair and the slightly scruffy appearance, was now on Lily's 8 year old body. Bringing his head closer to the mirror, he couldn't really see the seam where his head turned into her body, but instead it just appeared that the skin on his head looked slightly darker than his new body. It almost looked like his new body was under a clothing and didn't get as much sun. His head also looked to be slightly smaller than it normally was. To make sure that this was the case, Josh grabbed a ball cap that he had from his University tour and put it on to find that it was larger than he head and fell to cover his eyes. "So it looks like my head has gotten smaller to accommodate this new body." He exclaimed as he put it back where he got it. Each step he took with his new body, it seemed wrong. Between the tight long sleeve shirt to the skirt around his waist and hops.
Looking around, he finally realized that Lily had run out when the change occurred. Knowing that his Mom wouldn't really see the change unless she either held the remote or got changed by the remote. "Lily?" He called out to the vacant hallway. "Are you okay?" Looking under the doors, he could tell if the lights were turned on since there was a small gap under each door. Josh could see a light on under the door at the far left door of the hallway. "Lily, are you okay? I know that you're in the bathroom."
Hearing some sobbing coming from the bathroom, Josh lightly knocked on the door. "Go away! You're going to be mad at me!" She yelled through the door as she continued to sob.
Sighing a little at how she was acting, Josh tried once more to get her out. "Lily, you know what somebody once said?" He asked, but not really waiting for an answer. He learned this technique from his Grandma when was trying to get a point across. "There are no problems, only solution." He said in a calm, collected voice. "Come on out and we will find an answer to your problem. Okay?"
Between sniffles of a little girl crying, Josh heard a sweet, "Okay." As she said this, he could hear the the door unlock and she opened the door.
