You couldn't believe it. This was supposed to be your dream vacation, the romantic getaway of a lifetime with the woman you loved, one that you'd been increasingly tempted to end with by finally proposing to her on your ten year anniversary, and it'd all gone wrong. Due to a simple miscommunication, instead of getting to spend the week enjoying this romantic destination with the woman you loved, she'd be forced to use you as a toy against both of your wills. As Mari held your misshapen form in her hands, looking as helpless as you felt, you wondered how things could possibly get any worse.

"Surprise!"

That voice! No. It couldn't be. You'd flown literally halfway around the world! She'd given you the sweepstakes tickets fair and square! You'd earned them! It couldn't be her! It simply couldn't!

It was.

"Jenna?!" Mari cried out, echoing your confusion. "What are you doing here?!"

Your sister walked over, pulling her suitcase behind her, smiling.

"After you both left, I noticed something about the sweepstakes rules that I hadn't before. It was hidden in the fine print but it said the vacation was good for two unaffected individuals. It's some kind of loophole with how the French law regards affected. Essentially, you two had an extra ticket for your trip, and, I figured, instead of letting it go to waste, I'd just buy the cheapest plane ticket and surprise you both!" Jenna knelt down so she was addressing your slowly reforming self directly. Now you could see her smug face grinning ear-to-ear. "Surprise."

Oh, God, kill me now, you thought.

Unfortunately God wasn't that merciful, as Mari took the unexpected presence of her best friend as a miraculous lifeline.

"Jenna! We need to talk!"

"I know, I know," Jenna said. "You're worried I'll cramp your romantic getaway. I promise you won't even know I'm here. I'll sleep on the couch and sightsee during the day. If you two ever need some," she cleared her throat, "privacy, I'll make myself scarce. If I'm out and you two start going at it, just put a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and I'll come back later--"

"No! It's not that!" Mari said desperately. "I messed up and agreed to something without realizing it and now Matt's been licensed for the week and they're saying I have to use him like an object and the schedule's been set in stone and this whole wonderful, romantic trip Matt planned out for us has been ruined and it's all my fault!"

"Hey, now," Jenna said soothingly, wrapping a comforting arm over Mari's shoulder. "It'll be alright. Just calm down and tell me what happened from the beginning."

Felicity, who'd been watching the entire interaction in utter bafflement, wasn't sure what to say. She'd served as a couple's vacation assistant and advisor for years and had seen all kinds of meltdowns. This was the first she'd seen happening within five minutes of reaching the hotel. Wanting to be sympathetic and professional, but feeling somewhat annoyed they were now officially behind schedule and that her guest was making a scene in the lobby, Felicity was grateful that another unaffected woman was here to help calm Marisol down. After a few minutes, the two women approached her, Mari holding her fully-reformed tiny in the palm of her hand.

"There's been a mistake," you said, trying to sound as confident as possible so the woman couldn't ignore you. It would've been a lot easier if the same woman you were now addressing hadn't flattened you and scraped away your clothes.

Felicity's gaze flickered from Mari, to you, then back to your girlfriend questioningly.

"We want the same couples vacation you offer unaffected couples, not one catered around torturing me!"

Felicity was surprised and confused at the tiny's outburst. It was a common occurrence. The little ones just sometimes had difficulty understanding what an expression of love it was to be used, especially foreign tinies. She'd assumed he was speaking without permission from his owner, but when neither of the unaffected women reprimanded you, Felicity's patient smile turned more strained.

"And... this... is your wish, mademoiselle Marisol?"

"It's our wish," Mari said sternly.

Felicity looked at the newcomer who simply shrugged and smiled apologetically. It seemed she may be the ignored voice of reason among the trio.

Felicity sighed. "My sincerest apologies, mademoiselle, but changing the schedule at this time is impossible."

"But you told us you were open to tweaking the schedule at a moment's notice!"

"I was, until you agreed for your schedule to be locked," Felicity explained patiently. "Before you arrived, I had scheduled reservations for activities pursued by unaffected couples, but once I saw your... his condition, I devised a new schedule in the event you wanted to use your tiny as much as possible, reserving new activities for that. Think of it as a, uh... Schroedinger's reservation. You both had and didn't have a reservation for all available activities. If you had refused to lock the schedule, these reservations for you would've remained open throughout the week. Now that it's locked, the reservations on all the unaffected couples activities have been removed and guests who were on the waitlist have already been notified that they've been approved instead. As you no doubt realize, we simply can't inconvenience so many of our other guests for the benefit of two."

"There must be something you can do!" you protested.

Again, Felicity hesitated before looking at you directly to respond.

"Apologies... monsieur," she added, feeling quite ridiculous. "But the only one with that power is the manager and she would only tell you the same thing I have."

"But--"

"Come on you two," Jenna said, talking over you, "is this really so bad? You're still in Paris, the most romantic city in the world! And you'll still spend the entire week together! Isn't that's what's most important?"

"Well, I mean, obviously it is," Mari said, then added. "But I wouldn't feel comfortable using Matt like he's some... toy!"

"Hey now, we both know there's not a thing Matt wouldn't do if it didn't make you happy," Jenna said before you could say anything. "My big bro loves you with all his heart, and he'd never be so selfish as to make you miss out on having the best vacation you could possibly have. If he needs to be an object in order for you to enjoy this once in a lifetime trip, it's a sacrifice he'd gladly make! Isn't that right, Matt?"

Jenna and Felicity looked at you expectantly while Mari looked at you with a mixture of hope and hesitation. Suppressing the spike of venomous rage that tightened your chest from your sister sabotaging your and Mari's perfect romantic getaway that you'd worked so hard for, you slapped on a smile that was physically painful to muster.

"Of course!" you said. "Anything for you, Mari!"

Mari smiled at you gratefully, but still looked hesitant. "Thanks, Matt, but, I don't know. Even without my bad memory, my bad French is what got us into this mess. I don't want to cause anymore mess-ups over a mistranslation--"

"Have no fear, mademoiselle," Jenna said with the angelic smile of a savior descending from the heavens. "Not only is my memory stellar, but I just so happen to be fluent in French! I'm even tutoring an affected girl in my class. I can come along on your couples activities and act as your translator to make sure that votre tout-petit will always be un peu écrasé."

Your jaw dropped. Not at the joke, though you knew you were at the butt of one by catching the French word for "squashed" and Felicity's attempt at concealing a laugh behind a polite cough. No, you were terrified by Jenna's suggestion that she accompany you and Mari on your activities! A week being used by your girlfriend was bad enough, but Jenna supervising it would ensure the most romantic week of your life would turn into the most hellish! Unfortunately, Mari didn't feel the same way.

"You'd really do that for us, Jenna?"

"For my big bro? C’est mon plaisir!"

"Oh, Matt, can you believe our luck?!" Mari asked, oblivious to your horror.

"I... genuinely can't," you said, feeling a piece of you die inside.
