As Stacy walked, she tried to piece together how she ended up in the middle of a forest. First off, she lived in a city with shamefully few green-spaces. Also, it was the middle of winter! The forest should be covered in snow, or at least much colder!
Her train of thought was broken by a loud rumble from her stomach. Crap, when had she last eaten? Stacy looked around the forest for anything somewhat edible. It was just trees, shrubs, and moss as far as she could see.
There were a few mushroom caps scattered about, but she wasn’t hungry enough yet to risk eating a poisonous fungus. She kept wandering and hoped she find something to eat soon. Despite Stacy skinny build, she wasn’t what you’d call “in shape.” She could feel sweat sticking to the track suit shortly after the first mile.
An hour probably went by before she encountered some different scenery. She was sweaty, her feet hurt, and her stomach was practically roaring, but her ears hadn’t betrayed her.
Stacy could see a small river flowing between the trees just ahead. She jogged over and knelt down by the bank, cupping some water in her hands and bringing the cool liquid to her mouth. It didn’t really sate her hunger, but the drink was just what she needed.
But a rustle in the bushes broke her out of her little drink. A wild animal? She looked around for something to defend myself, settling for a large rock from the riverbank. She stood up and readied herself self for whatever might be coming.
Suddenly, out jumped a small creature that looked like a living water balloon. It had a red translucent body and was about the size of a large apple. Stacy could barely make out two pearl white spots which must have been its eyes.
Despite its rather nonthreatening, perhaps even cute appearance, she yelled at it and backed up with the rock held up in one hand. She played a few fantasy games in her time and knew that slime monsters weren’t to be underestimated. Wait, did this mean she was in a fantasy world?
The slime jumped towards her again and interrupted that thought. Unsure what else to do, she smashed the rock down at the creature and it splattered with a satisfying squelch.
“Ha! Not so…tough are you!” Stacy shouted triumphantly, realizing she been holding her breath.
But she spoken too soon. The bits of red goo began to coalesce back together and in a few moments the slime had reformed as if nothing had happened. She grabbed another rock and tried smashing it again, but the same thing happened. As she helplessly watched it reform a second time, she saw that two more slimes had crawled out of the bushes behind her.
Realizing she was surrounded, she considered leaping over the creatures and taking off running. She would easily be able to outrun the tiny goo balls. But then she noticed something else…there was a scent in the air.
A delicious scent like savory meats and baking spices. She lifted her hand to her face, the one she been smashing the slime with, and saw that there was a bit of red goo stuck to it.
“Are you gonna give it a taste?” A squeaky voice chimed in her head and she couldn’t tell if it was someone else or just her own mind. Stacy stomach rumbled again and before she had time to give it a second thought, she licked the red substance off her hand.
Stacy taste buds lit up with flavor. It was like the juiciest meat she ever tasted. But just like that, the flavor disappeared. There’d barely been enough to lick, but she wanted more!
She stared down at the encroaching slimes. The smell still lingered in the air, and her mouth began to drool.
Without hesitating she bent down and grabbed one of them. It tried to wriggle out of her grasp but she brought it to her lips and did her best to cram in as much as she could. She could feel the creature's gelatinous body against her cheeks, but bit by bit she sucked it into her mouth. It tasted SO GOOD!
It felt extremely odd to have something writhing in her mouth. It was no use chewing the slime, so she tried just swallowing it like an oversized jello shot. She felt like she was going to gag, but on her second try she could feel it moving down her esophagus.
A few strained seconds later and she completely swallowed it. She licked her lips, getting the last bits of meat-flavored gel off the sides of her mouth.
Stacy stomach rumbled, not satisfied with the single offering she provided. She looked down and saw that the two remaining slimes were nearly at her feet. She scooped up one in each hand and repeated the process.
A minute later, she let out a satisfied belch and patted her stomach, which bulged out ever so slightly from her thin frame. She couldn’t remember the last time she been able to eat enough to have a food baby!
Without the flavors on her tongue overpowering her senses, Stacy noticed she could feel the slimes wriggling in her stomach. It was…disconcerting, knowing that there were living creatures in her belly, even if they were goo monsters. She never been pregnant, but she figured this must be what it feels like. Little flutters of movement against the underside of your skin. She placed her hands on her belly and rubbed it, hoping that would soothe the odd feeling.
Suddenly a flock of birds broke out of the trees on the far side of the clearing. Stacy looked over and realized she could hear the snapping of tree branches as something large drew close. She was frozen in place, and by the time she thought to find a hiding place the intruder had appeared.
