Chapter #5

A normal morning for a not-so-normal family

"Daddy, daddy! Wake up!" a booming voice called out.

Jack jolted up. His brain didn't even have time to process what was happening when a huge hand picked him up from bed. To anyone else this would have been a frightening experience, to him it was just wednesday. You see, that huge hand was part of none other than his daughter, Emma. She was just 7 years old but already 100 feet tall.

"Hey honey..." he groaned. He really would have liked to sleep some more.

"Emma! How many times did I tell you not to disturb dad when he's sleeping?!" a voice called from below. It was his oldest son, Harry. Being 6 foot 3 at 17 years old meant he was quite tall, just not in this family: he was about half the size of Emma's foot.

"Sorry bro, but I'm hungry! And since I can't see mom anywhere, I'm asking daddy to make me breakfast!"

Harry sighed "I told you: sis has went to the harbor to get the food containers for you. You need to be more patient!"

He was referring to the second oldest child, Amber. She was 200 feet tall and 15 years old. Considering the size disparity between Emma and her father, Amber had assumed a more parenting role towards her younger sister, though it wouldn't have lasted for too long since Emma was still growing rapidly. It was only a matter of time before she would surpass her big sister in height.

"It's ok, I was oversleeping anyways. Thank you for waking me up." Jack said, giving a kiss at his daughter's thumb, which caused her to giggle. She was daddy's princess, and she knew it.

Just then, they could hear distant booms: Amber was returning "Hey everyone!" she boomed "I've brought breakfast!"

"Yayyy!" Emma boomed.

The family then sat down for breakfast, preparing a feast that could have fed an entire town, but was meant only for two girls. They were about to dig in when the entire house shook. It was a low rumble, followed by a roar-like thunder.

"Oh my, looks like he's hungry." Amber said.

Then, a distand boom, followed by a tremor that was still slight, but which carried a colossal force. Now there was no doubt, it was Tom, the youngest member of the family. Despite this he was also the biggest by many, many leagues, so big he had to live in a separate hangar.

"And he's coming...."

Amber got up to start preparing her little brother's breakfast. She didn't think he would wake up so early, so she didn't start his part yet.

Jack regretted that his daughter had to stand up in that situation, but she was the most suitable for this task after their mother. Well, everyone has their own role in the family. Harry is the stricter rational, Amber is the caring one, Emma is the playful daddy's little girl and Tom is the shy little boy. Although this 5-year-old boy is 1,200 feet tall and now approaching with loud footsteps.

Bang.

Bang.

Bang.

Jack ignores the shaking and just eats his breakfast. Harry shakes his head next to him, "I told him to pay more attention so that he steps more softly." "Don't scold him yet, because he just woke up. He must still be sleepy." Amber says over her shoulder. And Emma hums to the rhythm of her little brother's steps while eating. Yes, a normal morning.

You have the following choices:

1. Tom arrives for breakfast

*Noteb*
2. Tom is actually headed somewhere else

*Noteb*
3. Tom's steps get a bit too powerful

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
