The two Marines reached Nami's colossal sandal, where Sharper is stationed and at their current reduced size, the sandal appears enormous with the sole resembling a towering orange wall. Petire shifted back into his human form, signaling Ralph to dismount.
"Did ya see him?" Petire
Ralph furrowed his brows in concentration, activating his Kenbunshoku Haki to pinpoint his friend's whereabouts. After a moment of focus, he nodded and replied, "Yep, he's right between her toes. Ugh."
"Hmm, probably too scared to move, even changing into a swarm of bugs will get him spotted...Oh well, let's get to climbing." Petire cracks his knuckles.
"Can't you just change into your wyvern form and fly up there while I ride with you?" Ralph said, feeling unmotivated to climb the towering wall
"What do I look like, a taxi? Get yer misty ass up now, ya slacker!"
With a resigned groan, Ralph and Petire began scaling the textured orange surface, their hands and feet finding purchase on the rough wall as they slowly made their way up. As they climbed, the texture of the sandal's sole provided small nooks and crannies for them to grip. The ascent was a bit difficult, with both Marines occasionally glancing up to ensure they were heading in the right direction. The sheer size of a single sandal made them feel even smaller, and the sound of Nami's movements above added an extra layer of tension.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they reached the top of the sandal base, but they now faced another obstacle to get past: Her five massive toes. Each toe towered above them like a colossal pillar, slightly moving as Nami adjusted her position.
"Alright...how do we do this without getting squashed?" Ralph muttered, eyeing the enormous toes.
"We just need to be careful and not alert her." Petire replied. "You said Sharper is right between her toes?"
"Yeah...right...between the big and second toes."
"Alright, let's get to it."
The two marines carefully approached Nami's toes, moving as quietly as possible. The toes shifted slightly, causing a breeze that almost knocked them off balance. They pressed themselves against the sandal, waiting for the movement to stop. As the toes settled, Petire and Ralph resumed their cautious approach, inching closer to Sharper's position. The immense size of Nami's toes created shadows that loomed over them like dark clouds. The marines could feel the warmth emanating from her skin and the scent of strawberry surrounded them which is quite pleasant.
"Oh, thank goodness. So glad her foot doesn't stink as she knows how to wash it." said Ralph.
"Be glad she didn't hear that comment." Petire sighs. "Anyway, Sharper should be around here..."
They then heard a voice coming from above and looked up to see their buddy Sharper, still wedged between Nami's toes, looking down at them, waving his free hands for help before Petire waved his hand, signaling him to stop moving and stay still to avoid getting Nami's attention which Sharper did and nodded nervously.
"Hmm...quite risky to climb her toes..." Petire mumbles.
"...I think I can get him from up there. With my mist form, she won't be able to feel me." said Ralph, sighing of doing the dirty work.
"Hmm. Smart thinking, ya slacker."
As Ralph transformed into his mist form, his body dispersed into a small, almost invisible cloud, gliding silently up towards Nami’s towering big toe. Petire watched closely, ready to act if anything went wrong...though he grumbled at Ralph for not using his mist form in the first place as all he did was complain about the climbing.
He maneuvered carefully as he ascended, using the airflow around Nami's toes to glide upwards without alerting her to his presence. He floated gently between the towering digits, the warm, strawberry-scented breeze carrying him closer to Sharper. Seeing Ralph's mist form approach, Sharper tried to remain as still as possible. Ralph reformed his hand just enough to signal Sharper to prepare for extraction and with a nod, Sharper braced himself.
Petire, watching from below, keeps an eye on them while looking out for any sudden movement from the giant navigator, and so far, everything looks good for them...
