Witchcraft: The Basics

    by: BeeJay Author IconMail Icon
For a start, only biologically female persons can be witches. There are spells that can change a person's sex; however, their use is heavily regulated, as changing someone in any way without their consent is forbidden.

Magick can do many things, but not everything. It cannot raise the dead. Nor can it alter history in any way; if it could, witches would have tried to make human history less bloody. Nor can it create something from nothing; the closest that they can come is multiplying what is already there.

As noted above, changing others without their permission is not allowed; this is especially true when the other person is a cowan (one who is not a witch), as it runs the risk of exposing the existence of witches to the world.

Only witches can cast spells or brew potions; if a cowan tries, the spell won't work, or the potion won't have the desired effect. Cowan can use objects that have been enchanted; this is why witches are discouraged from leaving them out.

THE END.
