"Hold on there miss, you can't just buy one of my products without a demonstration," Clyde said before Jessica or Kylie could leave the store.
"Sorry, I wasn't interested in the trick aspect of them, I just needed a regular hair tie but everywhere else is shut," Jessica brushed Clyde off.
"Fair enough, miss..." Clyde said stepping out of their way. Before he waved his cane, spinning the whole store around except for the two women, causing him to be in front of them again and moving the exit behind them. Both Jessica and Kylie felt dizzy and wondered what just happened. "Though I have to ask, why did you need a new hair tie in the first place and how did you know I had something similar?" Clyde asked with a grin. "A freak accident followed by a compulsion perhaps?"
"How did you know," Jessica asked as the dizziness wore off.
"My products want to be bought and they have a way of calling to people to make sure they are..." Clyde kept up his eerie smile. "They also get a little temperamental if not used they way they were designed for and will ensure they are. I'm sure that tie in your hair isn't too happy just being used as a regular item."
He then turned towards Kylie. "You sense it don't you? The need to tug on your friend's hair?" He then approached Jessica again and spun her towards the exit and pointed to the door with the cane. "Look at all those things your hair could get caught on, including the door."
Clyde then spun Jessica back around but this time grabbed her ponytail and pulled it off. "These ties like to separate things," Clyde said showing Jessica the half tie at the end of the ponytail. He gave it a tug and it wouldn't come off. "Don't worry though it'll keep what it removed nice and secure."
As Jessica reached to grab her hair, Clyde moved quickly and grabbed the bag and in a smooth motion he pulled one out and slipped it onto her wrist, he then grabbed her by the hand, tugged it off and attached her hair to her arm and slid the tie off. "What...?" Jessica said as she lifted up her wrist and saw hair growing from where her hand should be.
Clyde waved her detached hand at her as he gave it a little tickle, causing it to squirm. "As you can tell, you can still feel it. That's because you've got half the tie in your hair and half on the hand. But if I were to do this..." Clyde twisted the half tie attached to the wrist and it came off. "You lose control over it." He then combined the half tie with the one in her hair causing it to combine and come off, leaving her with short hair.
"Now let me show you something else," Clyde said as he put the tie back around her wrist and tugged at her ponytail again, causing it to come off, he then twisted the tie causing it to separate from her wrist. He combined the two half ties again, and brought her ponytail back to her head, where it pulled her hair back and reconnected to where it should've been. He then grabbed her hand put it against her wrist, with not tie and let go. Causing the hand to fall towards the ground, he quickly picked it up, grabbed another tie, and this time pressed her hand to her wrist with the tie in between, causing it to reattach. "With out a tie, reattachment isn't possible." He then put the tie back in the bag and let the stunned women come to their senses.
"That's just an example of how they work, they can also stretch out quite wide, and when to ends that should fit come together it will squeeze so they can. They also work on inanimate objects. Now enjoy your purchase," Clyde spun the shop around again so they were now at the door.
Jessica froze for a second, and touched her wrist and quickly pulled the tie out of her hair, letting it go loose. She looked at the exit, back at Clyde, then at Kylie...
