Chapter #4Vacation Plans by: BeeJay A couple weeks later, I was still trying to wrap my head around what had happened. Why did I want to wear my sister's clothes? And did I want to do it again?
Meanwhile, Kathy was making big plans. She and her best friends were planning to go to Santa Monica; sort of a last hurrah before they got ready to go off to college. I envied them, that they knew what they wanted to do, and where they wanted to go; I, on the other hand, wasn't even sure of who I was.
"Alex?" Mom called from the kitchen doorway. "Come in here; we'd like to talk with you."
I went into the kitchen, where Mom, Dad, and Kathy were waiting. "What's up?" I asked.
Dad smiled. "We have a proposition for you."
Kathy smiled. "You know my trip to Santa Monica for two weeks? How would you like to come along?"
"Would I?" But then I hesitated. "But you've always said this was a girls' trip. Why would you want your kid brother tagging along?"
"I'm not talking about bringing my little brother; I'm talking about bringing my little sister."
"Huh?"
"You heard me. From the day we head out until the day we come back, you will be living as a girl. You're going to have your own clothes; your own makeup. And you'll be doing everything any girl would be doing, from getting ready in the morning to getting ready for bed. And only Michelle, Barbara, and I will know that your birth certificate doesn't say you're a girl. How's that sound?"
My head spun. I wouldn't be sneaking around, waiting for Kathy to leave; I'd have my own outfits. And I could act like a girl all day, and nobody would think I was strange for acting that way.
But I still had questions. "How am I going to look like a girl? I don't have a girl's body."
"There are things we can give you," Mom said, "that will help you look like one of the girls. Like we said, everyone will think you're a girl, so you don't have to worry about anyone treating you differently."
So there was something that would change my appearance enough to pass for a girl. "Okay; I want to go along."
"Great," Kathy said. "We'll be leaving Saturday morning, to pick up the others; and then we'll be on our way. In the meantime, get used to peeing sitting down." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
