Summoning class

    by: RoyalJelly Author IconMail Icon
Melona always looked forward to her Summoning class, and that worried her.

It wasn't that she was particularly good at summoning. Like every other field of magic, she was terrible at summoning. It wasn't as big of a deal as in her other classes, though; people were supposed to be bad at summoning. If summoning was easy, the world would be in a lot more danger than it already was. Bringing things in from other realms was always a crap shoot, and it rarely worked out in the summoner's favor. That's why only about a fifth of the class was spent on the actual magic behind summoning. The rest was about arcane geometry or ancient languages. It wasn't her best class, but Melona was still able to keep her head above water. That wasn't the reason that she looked forward to the class. No, that would be the teacher, Ms. Buera Cosyt.

Melona liked Ms. Cosyt. Everyone liked Ms. Cosyt, unless they were very careful not to. It wasn't her fault. The theory behind summoning circles was complicated, and had only gotten more complicated over the past few years. One of the ways in which it got more complicated was that, roughly around the time that Melona's mother was in school, summoners realized that a small portion of summoners were prone to what they called "chronic extradimensional bleedthrough." The actual mechanics of the condition required a level of mathematical understanding that Melona probably wouldn't learn for a couple of years; something involving helices and conic sections. The summarized version of the condition, however, was that over time, a susceptible summoner would develop underlying changes that would make them more acclimated to the realms they were summoning from. People who summoned fire elementals would develop a better heat tolerance, people who summoned earth elementals would develop a more resilient frame, people who summoned celestials would become physically lighter. So long as the stars didn't align during a summoning, the changes would stop there. There were just two problems.

Firstly, the stars did align during one of Ms. Cosyt's summoning session, Secondly, Ms. Cosyt was the world's leading experts on succubi.

The change, Melona heard, was immediate and dramatic. The once-petite half-elf had grown to a stately six-foot-six. Her hips had widened to the point that she had a hard time sitting down in some chairs. Her ass looked like she was smuggling two cantaloupes above her now-voluminous thighs. Her breasts, while not as large as some of the other professors at the Academy, were far too large to suppress or ignore. Her skin had turned a rich purple. Her hair turned dark as night and lengthened, framing the small horns she had sprouted from her forehead as it flowed down to her mid-back, ending just above a long, dexterous tail.

This would have all been acceptable. The Academy was no stranger to exaggerated physiques or unusual physiology; it counted a giant, a lich, and a sentient cat among its current staff. No, the problem was the changes that Cosyt had sustained to her mind and soul.

Cosyt hadn't been corrupted by infernal powers in the moral sense. She was still as morally-upstanding as she always had been. However, she had become more outgoing and brazen, almost as though by instinct. If she wasn't careful, she'd find that she had accidentally left a number of her top buttons unfastened, or that she was swaying her hips a little too much, or that she was engaged in some other minuscule scandal. What was more, a charm had apparently been worked into the fabric of her soul, causing her to entice those around her not only with her body, but her mere presence.

This was, apparently, an improvement from before. Professor Cosyt had nearly gotten fired after her first year following the incident, despite her academic tenure. Something had Happened, and nobody wanted to say what. It was only after volunteering to submit to regular mana-suppressing treatments, administered by the school nurse and supervised by at least two trained professors, that the demonic influence within her had been tamed.

That was the thing, thought Melona. Cosyt wasn't the demonic influence within her. She was a kind and attentive teacher. Sure, she was a kind and attentive teacher who showed too much skin about ten percent of the time and whose tail apparently wandered during faculty meetings, but she would always go the extra mile for her students and seemed to instinctively understand their academic and emotional needs. Once Melona got used to her summoning professor's strange demeanor, she never felt uncomfortable or awkward in class. It was as though she belonged there. She found a number of her teachers physically attractive, sure, but Cosyt was the only one she really felt attracted to.

And that was the problem. When Melona left Summoning class, she couldn't help but wonder how many of her thoughts and feelings were due to Cosyt being a genuinely kind person and good teacher, and how much were due to the involuntary charm that she placed on the class just by existing in the same room as them. Then, once she got caught up in her worries, she started wondering if she was just prejudiced; after all, Cosyt didn't look normal, and was carrying a massive magical burden around. It wasn't her fault, but--

These thoughts continued in Melona's personal brand of downward spiral as she sprinted through the door. Professor Cosyt, seated on her desk with her thick legs crossed, turned towards Melona and gave her a winning smile, showing off a pair of needle-sharp fangs.

"Melona Pearsly!" she said, cheerfully enunciating every word. "So good to see you. Come in, come in. But, ah--"

Melona opened the door and looked at the rest of the classroom. She found--
