Maybe she should take a walk to clear her head

Melona sighed to herself. She wouldn't do any good sitting around and feeling sorry for herself, as tempting as it was to do so. She'd felt this way enough times to know that if she didn't catch herself early, she'd spiral downward into a feedback loop of depreciating thoughts. She sat up, wiped her face, and pulled her boots on. Some fresh air would do her some good. Sure it was awfully late and already quite dark outside, but both the campus grounds and surrounding town were pretty safe as long as she stuck to the right areas. She took a deep breath, one last act to calm herself down, and stepped out the door.

From there she began to wander, thoughts swimming as she continued to battle her internal instinct to belittle herself. Unfortunately even with the advantage of self-awareness, old habits die hard. It was perhaps because of this that Melona didn't even fully recognize where she was going, until she found herself at...
