Curses and Enchantments Professor

As much as Melona was intimidated by Professor Chantess, she was fairly certain that she spell she had figured out would qualify as an enchantment. Either that or a charm, but she had a feeling Honeydew would be more harm than help. Chantess, on the other hand, was not only an expert on enchantments, but had even invented and patented her own enchanted devices and spells. If there was anyone who knew how to help her, it would be her.

"Ms. Pearsly." Chantess said, the slightest hint of surprise of her voice. She looked over Melona for a moment, scrutinizing, but then offered her a seat in one of the empty desks. Despite office hours being open, Chantess had been absent from her quarters, and for some reason was in her classroom despite it being the weekend. There was the slightest hint of tiredness on her face, her normally orderly desk scattered with papers, and for a moment Melona felt like changing her mind. But she knew she had to press on.

"U-um, Professor Chantess," Melona started, mumbling. She glanced up at Chantess' narrowed eyes and immediately straightened her back, trying to maintain eye-contact. "I'd like to develop a new spell!"

Chantess made a noise somehwhere between a scoff and a snort of laughter. "I'm sure you would." She said tersely.

"N-no, I mean!" Melona said, a little too loudly. She paused, clearing her throat, "I cast a spell last night. On accident. A-and I think it's not something that's been done before. It's not super useful, but, um..." Melona trailed off, doubting herself more and more with every word she spoke. Chantess wouldn't care about this. She was clearly busy...

"You cast a spell?" Chantess' eyebrows rose by a fraction of a centimeter, "That's... Surprising. I was starting to believe you weren't able to."

"Yeah, me to..." Melona muttered. Chantess' eyebrows rose a little more. Crap. Did she hear that? "Uh, a-anyway, I was pretty hungry and it made my hunger go away. I don't know if it actually gave me any nutrition, I kind of doubt it, but I'd at least like to know what it is I actually did."

Melona had expected Chantess to tune her out, but for whatever reason that didn't seem to be the case. She wasn't enraptured or anything, but she had the slightest hint of interest on her face, and was nodding occasionally as she listened. Chantess paused for a second, seemingly waiting in case Melona had more to say, and then responded.

"Well, I personally don't know of any spell like that. I'm not sure if it even qualifies as an Enchantment or a Charm, although you made the right decision coming to me instead of Cherri- I mean- Honeydew." She cleared her throat awkwardly, "And I admit I am quite intrigued if what you're saying is true. At the very least, I appreciate you put in the effort to clean yourself up a bit for once."

Melona didn't know what she meant by that, but it sounded good so she didn't question it.

"So I suppose I can lend you my assistance." Chantess finished. She walked behind her desk, opening a drawer and digging through papers. "For now we must determine if your spell is repeatable. I will act as witness to your experiments." She seemingly found what she was looking for, pulling out a form of some kind and jotting her own notes in the margins. "I have some... Other business to attend to," Melona hoped she meant a nap. "So come by my office this afternoon, and we can begin."

"O-okay!" Melona said, hope rising in her chest, "Is there anything I need to bring?"

"For now I would just like to see if this 'spell' is real." Chantess said, "Prove to me that it is, and we can discuss what to do then."

"I will!" Melona smiled, "Thank you!"

"Mm-hmm." Chantess said, rubbing her eyes, "Just remember, this afternoon, not a moment earlier."

---

Melona exited the classroom, still grinning. She couldn't believe it! Chantess was really going to help her!

As she walked down the hall, she felt her stomach growl. That's weird. Melona thought to herself. She'd eaten a fairly large breakfast that morning just before the meeting, and her talk with Chantess hadn't even lasted an hour. Maybe she was just excited. This was a good opportunity to make sure she could still use her spell, though, so after checking to make sure no one was watching, she pulled out her wand, pointed at herself, and once again imagined a delicious meal. Please work, please work, please-!

"Ah!" Melona gasped, feeling that same bloated feeling as she had the previous night, the sensual tingles lingering just a moment longer than they had the previous night before fading away. It had worked! And for some reason, she wasn't feeling sleepy like she had the night before either.

Satisfied, Melona made her way back to her dorm. Maybe she could get some work done before her meeting tonight...
