Melona froze, a chill going down her spine, and she realized just where she had wandered to. Just beyond the boundaries of the campus gardens lie The Cursed Glade, a dangerous forest that only certain students and teachers were allowed to enter. Rumor had it that the Glade came to be when two witches dueled to the death, their powerful spells and mana-infused bodies decomposing into the soil, causing the forest's strange and treacherous plants and creatures. It was also said that the glade was hungry for more mana, and if a witch wasn't too careful, they would become trapped in the forest, due to perish and fertilize it's twisted foliage. The forest most likely would have been destroyed if not for the highly valuable magical ingredients that could be found within.
Melona had considered going into that forest many times. The things that grew there had unexpected effects on people, and it was possible that something within the forest could help her overcome her difficulties with magic. But she always chickened out at the last second, too scared of what could happen to her.
Melona felt that desire once again to enter the forest. A curiosity mixed with a hope that she could fix her problems. But no, it would be too dangerous. She shouldn't do it...
