The giant socked foot exits the shoe. "These are a little too big," the giantess girl states. "I think I need half a size smaller." With a thump, she drops the shoe back into the box. It gets dark again as she closes the lid.
I wait until I can't hear their voices anymore before climbing out of the shoe. Luckily the box has one of those holes in it so that I can pull myself out. Now that I have a moment to think, I realize that I don't know what happened to the shrink ray. It was in my pocket when it went off. I check to see if maybe it shrunk with me, but it is not there. I look around the massive towers of shoes, and then I spot it. The shrink ray is still normal size, lying partially underneath one of the shelves.
I make my way over to the device. Usually, it would be just a few steps away, but now it is a short walk. I am nearly there when two massive sneakers come crashing down, blocking my path. I crane my neck up to see a gigantic teen boy. He is wearing the store's uniform. I watch as he bends down to pick up the shoe boxes on the ground. Then he spots the shrink ray.
