The two Japanese students sitting together as always. He shared a few classes with them and was assigned a seat next to Rin in one of his classes, so he knew them, but not amazingly well. In a way they reminded him of Hana back from high school, another Japanese exchange student. He smiled when he though back to her and the "interesting" things they did together. Shaking off his grin he walks to get his food, gathering a small plate of fruit, toast, and bacon. After he gathered his breakfast he walked to the two girls, who did not notice him yet and cleared his throat.
"Hey, mind if I sit with you two?" He asked nonchalantly. Normally he wouldn't bother sitting with them, after all he didn't know them too well, but he was in a social mood and Courtney wasn't around. Besides its not like he didn't know them at all.
"Oh... um... Richie right?" Akio says after thinking for a moment. She then looks to Rin who was regarding Richard with a small nod.
"How do you do today, Richard?" She says a bit quietly. Akio popping back in after she finishes.
"I don't mind, if you don't Rin."
"I would not be bothered. I was also wondering if I could have someone to go over the notes from last class with to make sure I understood them. I would be most pleased if you would help." She says with a polite smile. Nodding and smiling back RIchard takes a seat next to Rin.
"Well." He says before taking a swift bite of his food before continuing. "What did you want to go over?" The next ten or so minutes is mostly just a discussion between Rin and Richard about the last class and what they learned there. Akio was patient at the beginning, browsing her phone for a while before eventually getting bored and scooting her chair next to Richard's and leaning in close.
"So, what are you two talking about?" She says as she playfully pokes Richard in the side to get his attention. However rather than getting his attention Richard nearly yelps in surprise and a small smile forms on his face from the sudden ticklish interaction.
"Wha-what?" He says trying to hide his embarrassment at what just happened by refocusing on her question. But Akio was a bit too inquisitive at the moment to be thrown off.
"Richie... you surprised me there! Are you... ticklish?" She says with a sly grin as she leans in closer.
"What? No-no... that's ridiculous, you just caught me off guard is all." He says back quickly. Akio was having none of it though.
"Really? so you wouldn't mind if I did... this?!?" She says as she plunges her fingers into his side again giving a little squeeze as she makes contact.
"HaHa!" Richard laughs quickly before covering his mouth to avoid attracting the attention of the others in the, admittedly, sparely populated dining hall.
"Oh Richie, I think you were lying to me!" Akio says with a flirty and mischievous smile.
"Alright, alright, please just don't do it again." Richard pleads.
"Okay~." She says back with an impish smile. "For now~."
The rest of the breakfast went normally, other than that Richard was significantly more aware of Akio's existence throughout the meal due to her constantly acting like she was about to tickle him. Leaving him completely unaware that Rin may have been eyeing him for different reasons too.
However the meal did come to a close and as he was leaving he was approached by...
