“Bruce, I can explain everything. Come see me in Themyscira," Bruce read the note aloud.
There wasn't much she could do about it, but she was glad that Diana still existed. She thought that maybe she had become her somehow. As much as she wanted to help Gotham City, she couldn't. Not like this anyway. Luckily the Batman wasn't the only vigilante operating in Gotham. The Birds of Prey were a talented team and could hold the fort more or less until she returned—hopefully back to normal.
Bruce wasn't sure how her powers worked. She simply willed it, and she began to levitate. She panicked and tried to grab the ledge of the building she now hovered over but only ripped the brick right out of the roofing. She was strong too. Stronger than she had ever been before even when she was spending countless hours at the gym. No mortal man could measure up to the strength of a fully fledged amazonian woman.
She had to gain her bearings but once she did she took to the skies at breakneck speed. She would have been enjoying herself had the circumstances been different. If she had managed to obtain such powers yet remain in her original body.
The memory of where the hidden island was had been engrained into the mind of every amazonian. Now that she was one of them, she too knew of Themyscira's location. She soared there, landing in front of Queen Hippolyta's palace. A few of the guards saluted her.
"Welcome back, Princess Diana."
They greeted her.
"Uh.... thanks...?"
Bruce didn't know the proper formality to respond with.
Once inside, she found Donna Troy and Diana waiting for her.
"Bruce!"
Diana hugged her twin.
"Diana... what the hell is going on?"
"I would have contacted you ahead of time but we are in dire circumstances here. Queen Hippolyta has been assassinated."
She looked down. Her mother was dead.
"I... I am next in line to rule as Queen of Themyscira. I can no longer protect the world as Wonder Woman. So I let my armor choose a successor. It surprised me when it left the island. It didn't want any of my sisters so I assumed it would pick a powerful woman that embodied the values of truth and justice from man's world. Surprisingly, it chose you."
"No. Gotham is my responsibility and I didn't sign up for.... these..."
Bruce gestured to her prominent cleavage resting in her bodice.
Diana sighed.
"I know. Trust me, if I could change it I would but it's out of my hands now. The Gods willed it. The Gods chose you because they believe in you after so many years of fighting an uphill battle you have remained true to yourself and your values. Even without powers like mine or Clark's, you kept pushing and kept fighting."
She placed a hand on her new sister's shoulder.
"They believe you are most worthy out of any mortal to be Wonder Woman."
"I don't have a choice?"
Bruce furrowed her brows. This wasn't optional it seemed. Whatever higher powers at play seemed to have already made up their minds. It was flattering in a way to know that all the pain and struggling she had gone through in her life had not gone unnoticed by whatever gods were looking down on man.
"You do not."
"Why not Donna Troy? She's practically your twin anyway."
Bruce gestured to Donna, who folded her arms, glaring at the new woman in jealousy. She was supposed to be Wonder Woman, not some man.
"I can't speak for why the Gods make their decisions. All I know is they chose you and now you will be the new Wonder Woman."
"Why a woman though? Couldn't I have been chosen and remained a man?"
"Wonder Woman is the hero of Themyscira, the amazonians, an all-female nation. It would make no sense to have a man as our champion."
"Gotham needs me. I can't just abandon my home."
"You may return to Gotham. You may protect her more valiantly now than ever before with your newfound gifts."
"And what do we tell the Justice League?"
"The truth."
"Ugh..."
Bruce wasn't a fan of that idea. She'd never hear the end of it.
"I know it is hard forgoing your identity but in time you may grow to love the new you."
"Can I... alter the costume a little?"
She glanced down at her cleavage.
"To look more like a bat? I don't see why not."
Diana smiled.

Bruce remained in Themyscira for months getting schooled on amazonian culture and heritage. She was also trained by Diana on how to use her powers and more importantly how to act like a proper woman. She was going to be representing an entire nation after all and this was going to be significantly harder since she had zero experience actually being a woman prior to her transformation.
