You opened your eyes, and found yourself in a giant dark room. You stood up, and the ground wobbled and sank beneath your weight. The "ground" you were on was really a giant bed! Nobody seemed to coming at the moment, though, and nobody was in the bed yet, so you decided you might as well try to get to the ground. Or at least, you could get into a good position on the bed, hopefully a place where the owner would be able to see you. And so you set off on a long walk to the pillows at the head of the bed.
There was just enough time for you to reach the center of the pillow when you began to hear footsteps approaching. They were coming! You found your balance on the pillow and started waving your arms to get their attention as the door slid open. Unfortunately for you, whoever just entered was far too tired to check their pillows, and they didn't even turn on the light. They just closed the door and lumbered over to the bed. You suddenly had to change your plans to avoid being smothered -- you ran as fast as you could off the pillow and into the sheets.
Then the giant occupant lifted up the covers and slid in. You could hear a loud, grunting exhalation as the soft fabric assuaged their aching joints after a long day of battle. But who were they?
