Doing some calculations in his head, Erik concluded that, if he couldn't catch a ride to the city, he probably would have to sleep in the forest. He knew full well that this place was dangerous, especially at the night, filled with thieves and monsters-futas, from mischievous imps to huge, man-eater orcs. But, the idea of taking a ride with a completely unknown person was also not very appealing.
Soon, a cold breeze struck him, sending a shiver up his spine, he felt like he was being watched. Of course, in this forest, you never know, it could be just a squirrel, it could be an 8-foot oni. He gulped at the thought of a monster-futa so close to his home...
Touching the cable of his wooden sword, he felt a rush of confidence and began to walk faster. He shouldn't worry, too much. If it was necessary to sleep in the forest, he would make a fire. If he was able to catch a ride with a stranger, he would keep himself alert. It didn't matter what challenge was to come, he was going to face it!
