So why does George have two pictures?
You learn a lot about gargoyles from reading George's profile. Gargoyles are stuck in gargoyle form for ninety-nine years. During those ninety-nine years, gargoyles are mostly immobile.
But after those ninety-nine years are up, gargoyles take on human form for a single year. If gargoyles can find true love during that year, they can become mortal and assume a human form permanently. Otherwise, they revert back to gargoyle form for another ninety-nine years.
Supposedly it's the dream of all gargoyles to become permanently human. You're not quite sure this is true. The story of George's profile reminds you too much of Lover's Vow, one of the stories in the anthological movie Tales from the Darkside.
