This choice: Reikozilla in the city, doing some of the odd jobs that they planned for her • Go Back...Chapter #4Reikozilla in the city, doing some of the odd j... by: Kilbil It was a beautiful day out in Central City. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming, and a little girl was looming over a nearby construction site, collecting all sorts of tiny girders and other such material for the crew to use in the construction of the new high-rise near downtown.
Yes, indeed, Reikozilla was having a blessed time, heling out around the city with whatever odd jobs she could. It was the least she could do after what happened to the football stadium during her last "play" rampage.
She had to admit, she never expected that this would be how her life would turn out. Certainly, when she first got covered in that strange green stuff so very long ago, this was the last thing that was on her mind in terms of outcomes. She didn't quite catch what the men in white had said back then, but apparently what happened was supposed to be impossible, and the reason why this happened had something to do with her mama?
She didn't get it, honestly, and she never really questioned why she had grown as tall as a building, nor why she could shoot laser beams out of her eyes. Although now that she thought about it, that day, she had seen a shooting star streaking by out in the night sky, and she had made a wish to grow up at the gentle nudging of her mama. Maybe that's why she grew?
...hmm. She did wish to grow up, but she didn't expect it to be this strong. Maybe next time, when she next saw a shooting star, she would wish for a teeny-weeny dollhouse and see what happened. Maybe wish for an extra-tiny battalion of ponies at her command on top of that.
She was starting to not mind the feeling of her body lagging behind her mind by a few milliseconds, of having each step take far longer than she would like. Constantly struggling against the atmosphere, having to push against more of it relative to her body, had not been easy, but with time, anything was possible. One positive of her status as a kaiju that she greatly enjoyed was that she had instantly gotten used to all kinds of extreme temperature. There was far more of her to warm or cool, after all, so any changes in temperature had to be far more drastic in order to actually feel them.
Oh, and the fact that she could shoot plasma beam out of her mouth was pretty cool, too.
Still, Reiko couldn't help but feel that there was something missing. There were times where Reiko would stare at a skyscraper, take in its full stature and all of the interwoven planes of glass and steel, and wonder what it would be like if it could throw a punch. Her heart yearned for something more, something to quell the fire that had been stirring in her belly ever since she first a worthy adversary, a true to showcase her titanic might.
She wanted - no, she needed another kaiju by her side, someone that she could consider an equal, whether as friends, or even better, rivals!
If they ended up being enemies... perhaps that wouldn't be too bad, either. Getting to destroy buildings occasionally was nice, but the idea of rising up to defend the city, to really be a hero against exceptional odds - that was something that every child dreamed of deep inside, and Reikozilla considered herself no different.
Still, how was she supposed to find, or more accurately, make another kaiju. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
