Let's start with two of the better known Tau commanders, heroines of the Greater Good!
Farsight: Known also as O'Shovah, she is the leader of the 'Farsight Enclaves", a bunch of planets and fortified moons which broke away from the main Tau Empire. Wearing her red mech-suit and wielding the dreaded 'Dawn blade', she is a fierce fighter and cunning strategist, more often than not leading her squad of bodyguards into the heart of the battle, to deliver the killing blow.
There is also rumors than Shadowsun and her used to have 'a thing'. Whatever said 'thing' was, it seemingly did not end well, as Shadowsun has sworn to make Farsight pay and punish her for her constant insolence.
Shadowsun: Grim, serious and effective, she has commanded most of the Empire's recent invasions, expanding the realm of the Tau far beyond its old limits. While Farsight might like to fight close and personal, all flashy in her red suit, Shadowsun prefers stealth and wears a smaller, swifter suit of pale armor which makes her all but invisible to the naked eye. With that said, she is not against going on personal missions to find and 'deal with' enemy commanders.
These however, do not always go well for her or her big, juicy rump...
