Alexa was starting to lose her grip as the the exhaustion was getting to her. She had been scaling pretty much non-stop and was afraid to pause for a moment and regain her balance, for fear of looking down at the immense dropping and instinctively causing herself to fall.
Unfortunately, that fear ended up being directly responsible for her mistake, as her attempt to speed up her ascension resulted in one of her bare feet slipping on one of the indents, completely losing her footing. With no time to try and recover, her whole body was forced downward, and unable to grab hold of anything hard enough, she began to fall backwards.
Alexa screamed bloody murder as her heart began to pound harder than it ever has while she remained in free fall. She had no idea if she would be able to survive the drop at this size, or if her life was about to end in a splat, but she didn't even let herself think about that as her screams is all that ringed in her head, emptying her mind.
Then suddenly, Alexa landed far sooner than she expected. And while the force was enough to knock her unconscious, instead of a hard feeling, the miniature body had landed on a spongy surface, which flung the figure slightly up into the air, before allowing itself a relatively softer landing.
Alexa had landed on the cushion of a chair that had been right next to the table leg she had been climbing, potentially saving her life.
For an unknown amount of time, the minuscule woman slept away without a care in the world until she was awakened by loud noises coming from the outside world. She shook her head as she tried to recall what had just happened and where the incomprehensible voices were coming from.
However, before she could act, still lying on her back, Alexa looked up and saw a massive shadow started to descend directly onto her, causing her to once again scream out in terror.
