Fed Up

"What do you mean it's not covered?!"

"Mr. Holmes, this is not a new addition to your plan, this is quite common. You just happen to be one of our few customers who've never had their property demolished by a giant," an agent said over the phone.

It was true. Mike had lived an easy life, one would even say privileged for how little giants had affected his day to day activities. He'd never lost a friend or relative to a careless footstep, he'd never had a car flattened, heck, not even a single leaf on his tree had been touched by anyone larger than 10 feet tall.

That had changed as he was exiting his office, keys in hand and stretched forward to unlock it using the keyfob. Just as the lights flashed, a foot crashed down from the heavens, seemingly out of nowhere; Mike's car, which he'd just paid off a month ago, was no more than a piece of metal stuck to the underside of a massive sole as it left as soon as it arrived, the owner of said foot oblivious to his plight.

"Come on, there's nothing for this?"

"Not at your current plan, no. If you wish to upgrade your plan to include giant coverage, we can do that now, but it will not affect this. You simply didn't plan well, sir."

"Plan well my-" Mike stopped himself from swearing at the agent as he felt his pulse quickening; his face felt hot, and he knew he had to simply hang up and let off steam before he broke something again. He did just that, not even a goodbye given as he dropped his phone on the kitchen counter. Mike took a few breaths, clearing his mind of his current situation, then sighed. He then promptly grabbed his phone and chucked it across the room, the phone shattering upon impact. "Crap..."
