Chapter #5Soccer! by: KR711 Jake was waiting for his team on the soccer field. His favorite sport has always been this game. He went to almost every game in the area, meaning within 100 miles. And since he never entered the stadium, he didn't even have to pay. Of course, he had a few accidents, especially when he went further to places he was less familiar with. Around some stadiums, too large an area was concreted and Jake had to step on it to see comfortably. Other times, there were so many people who wanted to attend a match that the boy couldn't even step away from the parked cars, and in such cases a few dozen cars ended up under his feet.
He also loved watching his school team play, but he loved it even more when he got into the game. Of course, since the boy's feet were longer than the soccer field, after the first few games the other boys complained that the game was not fair. However, according to Jake, it was more complicated for him because it was much more difficult for him to handle the ball. But after standing alone against all the other boys and he won. (The attack was difficult for him, but he was unbeatable in defense.) He accepted that the others would come up with special rules for him.
Now he was sitting next to the soccer field and leaning over it. According to the rules, he could only insert one finger and not raise it until the end of the game. Of course, he couldn't dribble that way, he could only carry and pass the ball, but the others voted for these rules against his one vote. However, he was part of the game and that was what was important to him. After the warm-up, they played a whole match. Unfortunately, at the end of the game, his team lost, but almost no one cared about the result. Especially because both teams praised Jake's performance.
The others went to the dressing room to shower and change. Jake watched them disappear one by one and sighed. It's always been that way. He got along well with his teammates as well as his classmates. It was popular. When he arrived at the school, almost every student waved at him. If he told a joke, everyone laughed. And his teammates praised him. Still, when training or class ended, everyone went home or got together with their friends and went out to have fun together. In such cases Jake was never invited. It's like he's invisible outside of school. Although, according to him, he was the most noticeable boy in the world. He didn't understand that. He tried everything he could think of. He stayed until the last students had gone home, just in case someone noticed that he was alone. He washed his feet more often, in case the other children didn't like their smell. He asked the other kids about their after school plans in the hope that someone would invite him to join. But nothing worked. In the end, he realized that maybe he was just a weirdo to the other kids.
He was still thinking about that when he stood up. The move was a bit clumsy and he accidentally stepped on the spectator area around the soccer field. And he broke it all. The strong step not only left a deep footprint, but the tremor also broke many of the school's windows. Neither was the first time.
That's when Jake decided. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
