As the tiny, half centimeter trio of Amber, Freddy and Terence traversed the tile floors of the kitchen, they couldn’t help but take in the sheer magnitude of their surroundings. The kitchen was like a sprawling metropolis to them, and they constantly craned their heads to look up at the counters that surrounded them. This was most impressive go Terence, who was only experiencing being shrunken for the third time in his life.
“See, told you I didn’t have any bugs!” Freddy said with a cocky tone.
“Gotta hand it to you,” replied Amber. “You keep this place way cleaner than I thought you would.”
While technically Freddy may have been right that there were hardly an insects in his apartment, he wasn’t as thorough when it came to arachnids. This was evident as a brown recluse spider was silently creeping down one of the kitchen counters, having spotted the shrunken trio. It made its way down the counter onto the ground, and began to stalk the three exterminators.
Lost in their conversations, Amber and Freddy were too busy joking around to really pay attention. Terence, meanwhile, was still transfixed by his surroundings when he heard what sounded like rapid scampering behind him. He turned and instantly screamed. “SHIT RUN!” he shouted, his voice nearly going horse.
The brown recluse had identified these tiny life forms as nothing more than prey, and intended on getting a good meal out of at least one of them.
Turning quickly, both Freddy and Amber were alarmed. “Fuck! Terence get back!” Amber shouted, raising her hunting rifle and firing at the insect. She missed her shot, and the spider kept coming.
Freddy soon joined Amber in firing at the spider, which continued to close the distance. Terence had lost his mind while this had happened, and took off in a dead sprint in the opposite direction, behind his coworkers. He ran back towards the “safety” of the carpet fibers.
“Fuck I’m jammed,” Freddy shouted, looking down trying to get his rifle to work. He then heard a horrified scream and saw the spider was atop of amber. It was at least two, maybe three times their size, and had pinned her to the ground as it tried to inject its paralyzing venom.
