Everyone drew their straws and laid them out in front of pieces of paper with each Wolfe family member's name on it.
"It seems that," James said, sorting the names with the straws from longest to shortest. "Mom plants the first bean."
Julia smiled. She had never been happier than she was at this moment.
"I know just where to plant this bean," she said, staring at the bean in her hand.
She took the bean to her garden and planted it in the ground. Then she gave it some water and went back to the house.
"I hope you don't plant anything evil, Mom," Billy said.
Come sunrise, the family got up, had breakfast, and Robert and James were heading out to start chores. Julia looked at her garden and was startled to see a large flower in the middle. She screamed so loudly, the family ran to the garden to see it. Even Robert had to bring a pitchfork in case Julia had grown something evil. John had followed as well.

The sleeping piglets did wear different costumes (a caveman, a bumblebee, an explorer, a cowboy, a scientist, a magician, an aviator, a construction worker, an Eskimo, a chef, a sailor, a doctor, a painter, a samurai, an astronaut, a mechanic, a pirate, a clown, a football player, a knight, a baseball player, a racecar driver, and a conductor).
"They're so adorable," said Jeffrey. "I just want to hug them."
"Careful, Jeffrey," Julia warned. "It could be a trap."
