One month later...

    by: Unknown
The teal-colored space mouse remembered what happened at the end of his and Kirby's quest into the Isolated Isles after his other half's last stand. In the shifting sky above the dream version of Lab Discovera, Elfilis had morphed into a brightly shining light, a silently sparkling array of fragmented souls - and Elfilin absorbed it. Why? They were a part of him, neglected, shunned, but they had lashed out at the world in such an unforgivable way. Yet, when the ball of light, splintered and fractured as it was, fluttered its way to Elfilin on that roof, and it silently pleaded not to be alone, what else could he do? Elfilis had hurt many people, but it did not deserve to suffer despite that. Therefore, the Elfilin embraced the little soul with its open paws and held it against its chest, gently but firmly. As the comparison came to mind, Elfilis hugged the little soul tighter, nuzzling into the hold and cradling the light to reassure it. A feeling of warmth filled his being, and the completeness overwhelmed it. Finally, two had become one.

But ever since, it was hard for Elfilin to look at the Beast Pack and not feel guilty. Elfilis was Elfilin now, so naturally, all the obligation, responsibility, and atonement for its crimes fell onto Elfilin's shoulders. When Elfilin invited Ms. Clawroline to forage for food a month ago, the chinchilla-like creature didn't think anything would come of it. In his small way, it was supposed to be a gesture of goodwill, a trivial little thing of friendship that put the awful past regarding Elfilis' schemes a little further away. But Elfilin had no idea the leopard would get so happy just from eating!

Clawroline stuffed herself silly, entering into a food coma, so Kirby & Elfilin brought her back to Kirby's house to rest; and Elfilin, while he was cradling the leopard's snoozing head in its paws as Kirby held her by her legs, reflected on what it had seen. It's like people take delight in satisfying survival needs - any higher animal must find deprivation of food and drink uncomfortable and satisfaction of the need at least somewhat pleasant. The enjoyment comes from moving from state A (hunger) to state B (comfortable fullness). It is the same with most simple pleasures. Warmth is only experienced as unique if one comes in from winter weather. A cool drink of water is heaven when one is genuinely thirsty; otherwise, it is uninteresting.

Clawroline was, a month ago, as skinny as a rail, and it dawned on Elfilin that she might have been so happy because she usually doesn't get to eat at all; her brain's pleasure centers wouldn't have fired up like that if she wasn't starving! So, pointedly ignoring the weight that had settled on her tummy and the minor upgrades in her already exaggerated thighs when she walked out of Kirby's house, he invited her for another foraging. Food made her happy, and as her ex-boss via soul absorption, Elfilin figured that he should keep being happy, which made him happy.

Elfilin did not think things would spiral out of control so fast.

Elfilin thought this in a place where he had nothing else to do but think, squished underneath Clawroline's softly padded stomach as she rested off yet another food coma. For the past month, that had been the routine that she had fallen into, at first tentatively, but soon comfortably; foraging for food, eating as much as she could before her stomach simply couldn't put away anymore, Elfilin and Kirby taking her back to Kirby's house to rest and repeat. This time, the teal chinchilla was already using the bed, wanting to nap after spending much time having fun at Wondaria. But Clawroline came in with a yawning purr and, without noticing the bed was already occupied, lay face first on Kirby's bed and fell into a heavy sleep. Elfilin awoke feeling his entire body smothered under warm feline flab, and no matter how hard he thrashed or wiggled about, there was no waking up or getting out from the now 348 lb leopard.

A month of constant feasting had left the once lithe and thin as a twig Clawroline into the plushly pudgy cat she was now. She was still fit and flexible, just as much as when she had tried to stop Kirby and Elfilin on their journey so long ago, but it was rather uncanny for the residents of Waddle Dee Town to see someone so rotund to still be so energetic and bouncy on their paws. Her plump face currently sported a content smile as she slumbered, drool escaping down the rosettes of her cheek fur to the star-shaped pillow while her doughy arms absent-mindedly scratched at her middle, eliciting a chorus of groans as she no doubt dreamed of more food. Her unending caloric intake has brought to attention features that people never noticed before, specifically her breasts, which once were very hard to find under her chest fluff, but now they're round, perky, oh-so-soft, and very much present. Still, they're overlooked in the grand scheme of her new gains; most of the fatty tissue was focused around the plump waist of her flabby, curvy hips, her pudgy belly split into two separate rolls, and her fatty behind.

People could tell that Clawroline was pear-shaped before, but now it's impossible not to notice, as the leopard's hips, soft to where Elfilin could put sink his whole paw in, brushed against doorframes, while her bottom could fill two chairs. Her tail lazily flicked from side to side above her massive ass, so big that it made the leopard appear taller whenever she sat down. Somehow, the sheer girth of Clawroline's thick thighs that touched each other down to her knees did little to impede her movements; she moved with an effortless and voluptuous swagger.

Elfilin grunted in annoyance after the umpteenth failed attempt to get Clawroline off his body; her belly fat sucked up each thrust he made with his paws, making it impossible to get a good grip on anything, and he was left to pant in exhaustion with the bit of space he had to breathe. It wasn't necessarily bad under Clawroline, just annoying; if it weren't for the weight she was pressing down on him, she would make for the perfect blanket. Often, the space mouse felt relaxed listening to the gurgles of her stomach and heartbeat and gentle snoozing purrs, the warmth radiating off her soft fur and fat lulling him to sleep, but the pressure was just too much! Left with nothing else to do until she woke up, Elfilin resigned himself to being Clawroline's sleeping buddy, idly running his paws through the leopard's silky soft fur for entertainment. With his fingers sinking into the unofficial third resident of Kirby's house, Elfilin briefly thought back to how the reactions of Kirby's other friend, Bandana Dee, had changed over the past month...

"Woah, Kirby, it looks like your appetite is rubbing off on the locals." That's what Bandan said, good-naturedly, of course, to Kirby when he saw Clawroline at 160 lbs, walking into the kitchen area of the pink puff's small home to extract a chocolate bar from the fridge.

"Heh, do you think she's trying to beat Kirby for the title of hungriest being alive on the planet?" Bandan whispered conspiratorily to Elfilin as they both watched in awe at the 220 lb Clawroline having yet another feast at the Waddle Dee Café, Car-Mouth Cakes & Kirby Burgers quickly being turned to mush in her stomach as her stomach bulged into the table's edge.

"That's...a lot of leopard..." Bandan mouthed with a blush on his cheeks while the 280 lb Clawroline glutted herself on doughnuts and ice cream at the picnic to the Everbay Coast. It wasn't supposed to be a picnic, just a day trip to play in the sand, Elfilin remembered, but bringing food was the only way to get the aquaphobic feline so close to the ocean.

"...hey, Elfilin, how much bigger do you think she's gonna get?" Bandan bluntly asked the teal chinchilla yesterday as they watched Kirby and Clawroline have dinner together from outside the house's window. Kirby was standing on the table, the two chairs being used for each of Clawroline's butt cheeks, both of them eating at roughly the same speed, which was concerning, because Kirby had a black hole for a stomach, yet the leopard kept pace all the same.

Elfilin had no idea how to respond to Bandan's question. He tried not to think about it, tried to think about how happy Clawroline was as of late. It's rare to see her without a great big grin on her face! Just as it is rare to see her not snacking on something. As far as everyone could tell, she suffered no health problems from all this snacking, and there was plenty of food to go around from foraging the many ruins of the Forgotten World, so no one had a good reason to tell her to go on a diet. But still, that question rang in his head: how much bigger?

Choice 1: Clawroline eventually gets up, but not because she's awake. She's sleep-walking...and sleep-eating!

Choice 2: Clawroline wakes, letting Elfilin escape so he can talk to Wise Waddle Dee. It's probably nothing, but he wants to make sure...is there anything strange about Clawroline's growth?

Choice 3: Later, Clawroline has a show to put on at the Waddle Dee Theater. Elfilin might be apprehensive, but her fans have been soaring in number lately with her new figure! Some of them have gotten into the habit of leaving gifts of the edible variety in her changing room...

Choice 4: Leon stops by town to check on Carol, better known to the locals as Clawroline. What's his reaction to the Lethal Leopard's lard?

Choice 5: Free Choice!
