Jackson sat in the back row of his classroom in a staring contest with the clock on the wall at the front of the room. Though he was still working on reading a clock, he knew there was only 10 minutes until he and his classmates were free from school for the weekend.
“Ok class i’m passing out the permission slips for our trip to the aquarium next week. Please have your parents sign them this weekend and bring them back on Monday” Jacksons teacher said.
Jackson was barely paying attention, bouncing his knee waiting for time to pass. He was a hyperactive kid to begin with but at this moment he could not seem to keep still in his chair.
Soon enough the bell rang, Jackson and his class stampeded out of the school. Jackson met his usual group of friends and began the walk back home, chatting about the day and what each was doing over the weekend.
“Hey guys, my mom said I could have a sleepover this weekend, would you wanna come?” Jacksons friend and neighbor, Conor, asked the group. The boys all agreed excitedly.
One by one, Jacksons friends split from the group to go home, until it was just Jackson faced with the short walk to his house. However, it was only until all of his friends were gone did he realize that he really needed the bathroom, he knew he should've went before the end of school, but he wasnt sure if he needed to go then.
Jackson started to pick up the pace toward his house, speed walking in hopes of avoiding yet another accident on his walk home from school.
