I could not shake the feeling that nothing good would come from anyone falling from the future, especially someone young. I decided to call Eli first and allow his obsessive protective nature take it from there. I dialed his private number and patiently waited for him to answer. Surprisingly, he picked up on the second ring.
"Talk to me." Firmly, a feminine voice demanded.
I knew the feminine voice well. It was Elli's female persona; he was a gender morph which meant he had the ability to be male or female at will. In his female form, she called herself Miss Shield. She was impressively fast and strong with the ability to run and maneuver without a sound at great speeds. She was also able to become invisible hence she was Miss Shadow's invisible shield.
"Miss Shield, Vague here." Darkly, I said. "The tower is prominent tonight; evil will fear the shadows once again as warriors step into the light."
Miss Shield grunted. "Then the Shield will be raised again unless the voice of reason can prevent history from repeating."
"Do as you wish, Miss Shield." Calmly, I said, :"Just remember, the tower effects everyone, not just those who know of its appearance."
With that, I ended the call and sighed. "The voice of reason indeed." Sadly, I said. "If a young lad I once knew listened to reason, he would not need two wardrobes."
