In my long life as a crime fighter, I had learned to obtain valuable information though a seemingly normal conversation. Every pause, wince or glance away spoke volumes when asking general questions. Faith was like an open book to me; her mother was a powerful kinetic, a person with incredible abilities of the mind. She had an abusive father who was taken down by a mysterious Miss Silhouette. He was then arrested by police chief Ted Jones... currently Tex 'The Mighty'. I found it bemusing that such a reckless and impulsive character would later become the chief of police. Then again, I knew of a reckless young man named Tod Flynn, who called himself The Strongman grow up to become the chief of police.
To Faith, she was having a pleasant conversation with one of her idols. To me, she was weaving a story about the future and my role within it. Apparently, Eli's prediction came true, I finally found a way to get myself killed... or did I? Like Madam West was a part of me, I would become a part of this Miss Silhouette. Only faith mentioned that this Miss Silhouette had an invisible shield, a protector. It made me wonder as I too seemed to have a protector; someone looking over me.
Eventually, faith vanished just as she had arrived but she had given me all the incentive i needed to dawn the suit again and aid the newest freedom fighters to rise to the defense of Waterfront City, the problem child gang.
"Well, old friend, it looks like we get to defend the city yet again." Petting Oracle, I said. "Let's suit up and see what this problem child gang has on the ball."
With that, I walked to my bedroom and stepped into my walk in closet. Upon closing the door, another door opened; revealing a pole which I slid down. The door in the back of the closet closed on its own as the closet door opened. At the bottom of the pole was a large changing room where I dawned my hero costume. It was a tight, long sleeved black leotard with black stockings. The mask was made of a material I had never seen before, made by the Multi players. I then had a black scarf that I used to cover my eyes. They were of no use to me for sight and it was more than enough to make any criminal pause. Who would fight blind...?
Beyond the changing room was my lair where I often worked with The Resistance, another freedom fighter group but more of that later. I gathered tools I believed I would need including my fighting staffs then walked to the garage. There rested my ride, a sleek black 1969 Stingray. Thanks to the many allies I had earned in my time as a crime fighter, my ride had the ability to run completely silent and, with an electric charge, bend light to the point where it was all but invisible. It truly was a Stingray.
"What keeps evil awake at night... Miss Shadow knows." Grinning, I whispered.
With a satisfying roar, the Stingray came to life and I sped down a series of underground roads towards Waterfront City...
