I squeak of warning from Oracle alerted me that something was amiss. I felt a sudden breeze and heard the gasp of a little girl. Instantly after, there was a teenage girl standing before me. Details aside, I could see the world around me though my other senses. It was not what one would call perfect vision which was why I had Oracle to help me along. The girl was slightly pale and ,judging from the extra warmth in her abdomen, visibly pregnant.
"Sorry to intrude." Timidly, the girl said. "I sometimes fall through the paintings I create; especially when I am in the creative zone."
"That is an unusual form of teleportation." Bemused, I said. "What were you painting?"
The girl blushed. "A portrait of you, Ms Ina Dalrymple."
Ms...? I then patiently said, "You seem to have me at a disadvantage."
"My name is Faith." Softly, the girl explained. "I was painting a portrait of you when you were still..."
She stopped talking, tearing up considerably. This caught my attention. Could the girl before me be from the future? It seemed impossible but then, I have seen the impossible become possible...
"Would you like some tea and vanilla sandwich wafers?" Smiling, I offered.
Faith nodded and I poured us some tea that was still hot before we both sat at the table with our snacks. I noticed that Faith was quite hungry with how quickly she ate her vanilla sandwich wafers; I offered her more.
