Landing onto the table from her massive lunch tray, Luz was doing all she can not to freak out at how tiny she’d become. Her friends were so gigantic that if they saw her running around, they’d think of her as a bug and try to crush her with their bare hands. What a horrible way for her to go out.
Unfortunately, getting their attention might be the only way Luz was gonna get help, and she choose someone who could easily help find a solution to this: Amity Blight.
“She’s definitely a good choice, I mean she has to know a lot of stuff about magic.” Luz was doing all she could to encourage herself that this was a good idea, it helped to calm herself from being frightened at how vulnerable she was like this. It was getting harder when she ran to her newest friend and noticed how big she was up close. She couldn’t get a good look at her face when she looked up, only see her chin moving up and down when she talked. When she turned her head down, it was only to choose what to eat next in her lunch tray.
She almost bailed on the idea, but she gulped down her worries, and soon her ground. “You can do this, Luz. You can do this!” It didn’t take long for Amity to look down at her meal when the tiny witch sprang her plan into action. started running near the large tray and began waving her arms up and down. She even jumped to make sure she was easier to spot. “Amity! Amity, look down!”
The youngest of the Blight family was enjoying her lunch without any issue. She was feeling generous that she was able to hang out with Willow again after years of hostility, though that was mostly thanks to Luz. Speaking of, she was starting to wonder where she could’ve gone. Maybe she was doing some new magic spell and it took up most of her time that she forgot to finish her lunch? Maybe that was true, but still it was weird for her to not be here.
She tried to shake the mind off on the human, but she couldn’t help it. She really did wanted to see her. Hopefully she’ll show up, for now Amity needed to finish her lunch.
That was when she spotted something hopping near her lunch tray,
“What is that?” She muttered, lowering her head down curiously to get a better look at what she thought was an insect. When she realized what or who it was, she almost jumped in fright and shouted the speck’s name out. With a hand hovering over her mouth, she had one thought in her head. ‘LUZ!?’
‘YES! She can see me!’ Luz was feeling hopeful when Amity’s golden eyes locked onto her. So far there were no attempts to crush her with her hand, and her expression was that of pure shock. She knew Amity could spot her so easily, and now all she had to do was wait for her to notify Willow and then discuss how to get her back to normal size.
If she had noticed Amity’s fingers reaching for her, she would’ve realized something was off about Amity. Both the massive index finger and thumb took hold of the tiny human, pinning her against their soft grip with barely any effort. “A-Amity?” She saw her giant friend’s eyes direct themselves to Willow and used her free hand to knock away her fork. It clattered to the ground as expected.
“Whoops, dropped my fork!” She quickly said to Willow who simply raised her head just before she had time to see her friend duck down beneath their lunch table. When she was in the clear, she raised Luz towards her eyes. “Oh my Titan. Luz, is that really you?” She whispered.
“Yes! It’s really me! I don’t know how, but I’ve been shrunk!” Luz tried to speak even when Amity’s stare sort of made her even more scared than before. “I don’t know if you happen to know any way to reverse this or not, but I really could use your help. We should let Willow know-“ She was starting to get a bad feeling suddenly when her giant friend couldn’t stop staring at her. “Amity?”
Amity understood her words clearly, but while she kept looking at the tiny human between her fingers, she suddenly thought. ‘I can keep Luz all to myself.’ She had slowly found herself admiring her, from how determined she was to learn magic, to how reckless she was when it came to helping her friends or even just doing anything she set her mind towards.
She didn’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations or be locked behind her room with a set of rules drilled into her head. She had a sense of freedom. Amity couldn’t help but feel a little bit jealous about it, but now things were different. Luz was vulnerable at such a tiny size and she might need someone to keep her safe from harm.
That was gonna be the thing she can use to convince her that this next part would be for her own good. She was gonna make sure she never left her side for as long as she wanted.
“Amity? You can hear me, right?” At first, Luz thought her voice didn’t travel to her friend’s ears. Maybe she needed to shout louder.
But then Amity blinked and whispered to her something she didn’t think she’d hear. “Don’t worry, Luz. I’ll keep you safe. But I’m gonna need to hide you right quick.”
“Wait, what do you mean hide me-!?” The tiny human started to squirm wildly between the giant’s fingers while she tried to quickly come up with the perfect place to hide the little Luz. It didn’t take too long for her to come up with a solution. What was it?
1). The most obvious choice was to put Luz in her pockets. It was safe and comfortable, perfect for the tiny human to relax in for the rest of the school day. Unfortunately, Luz might try to escape from there without her noticing.
2). She knew this idea seemed to be risky and could harm Luz more than she wanted, but she had to make sure no one noticed. With her magic used to shield Luz’s body temporarily, she placed her down in her boot, her foot entering slowly afterwards.
3). Amity was still trying to think of a safe place to hide away Luz, but she took too long before Willow decided to investigate. And she just managed to see the tiny Luz between Amity’s fingers. How will this play out?
