these swaps were completely random... and i love them.
"Excuse me, Miss? Are you ok?" A deep, yet polite voice said from behind him.
The young man turned spider waifu turned to respond, "I'm... fine... just sorta freaking ou- OH MY GOD, TALKING SKELETON?!"
Indeed, the voice belonged to a skeleton man, wearing dark robes with a very over the top headdress that gave the impression of giant horns.
"Rem.. apologizes for her unsightly appearance... Rem has had a strange day..." the skeleton man explained, his tone of voice portraying embarrassment.
Despite being mid freak out, Subaru noticed what the skeleton had said, "wait... Rem?!"
"Um... yes?" The skeleton said.
He couldn't believe it. He wasn't the only one turned into some weird monster!
"Its me, subaru!" He said, flailing his spider arms.
"S-Subaru?!" Rem said in surprise, he couldn't believe the deep voice actually belonged to the sweet maid he'd been living with, "is that really you?"
"Yeah, something weird is going on!" He said, still feeling the wriggling in his throat as he used his girly new voice, "I woke up and I was suddenly this spider girl thing! And now you're a creepy skeleton guy?! The heck's going on?!"
"Ah! C-calm down, Subaru!" Rem said, seeing the spider maid panicking, "Rem is sure what's happening either, but Rem knows everything will he alright!"
"How?! We look terrifying! I have eight limbs!" He argued, flailing said appendages as he freaked out.
He felt boney arms wrap around him, causing him to jump in place once again. He notice ram was now hugging him, making him realize he now had a much smaller frame than her.
"Calm, Subaru," Rem tried to say, though her new voice made her sound more intimidating than comforting, "Rem is sure we'll figure this out."
Despite the weirdness of the situation, Subaru focused on the words rather than the voice saying them. Even if their bodies had changed, this was still the girl who had stood by his side and helped him through some of his biggest struggles.
He took a deep breath, which felt even weirder than talking, like his whole body shuttered, "You sure?"
"Of course," Rem nodded in assurance, "and even if we can't, Rem will always love you. Even if we're both hideous monsters!"
Subaru felt a sweat drop down his head, and let out an awkward laugh, "of course you will..."
Now having calmed a bit, Subaru looked around his surroundings. He seemed to be in a school yard, like his homeworld. Which was weird enough. If he was back home, A: why was Rem there, and B: why were they both monsters?
As he contemplated, he noticed a familiar pink haired girl.
"Hey... that's Ram!" He called out, causing Rem to turn her head where he was looking, "she looks the same as ever...! Wait... she looks..."
