Chapter #4

Lisa, We Shrunk Ourselves!

    by: G-Breaker Author IconMail Icon
It was a nice and peaceful afternoon in the house of the Loud family, which was a very rare occasion since most of the Louds were spending the day outside. At the moment, the second oldest daughter of the Loud family, Leni Loud, was the only one who was still at home, and she had some pretty good plans for how she was going to spend her day.

Leni had the day off from her job at the mall, along with her friend and co-worker, Fiona. Additionally, since it was a Saturday, her friends from school, Jackie and Mandee, were also free to hang out with her. With their schedules cleared, all four teenage girls decided to meet together for a fun little get-together at Leni's house. They would've invited Miguel too, but he already had plans of his own.

It was going to be a party for Leni and her three favorite girl friends and the ditzy blonde was currently setting everything up for when her guests arrive. Leni was now in the kitchen preparing a snack spread with everything her friends needed to enjoy the party with her. Her snacks consisted of chips and dip, her friends' favorite cookies, pretzels, pizza bagels, and even a fruit platter. She also had cold refreshments along with fashion magazines, DVDs, and makeup supplies for their entertainment.

Once all of the food was finished, Leni brought everything to the living room and set it all up very nicely on the table. She placed the snack trays carefully on the table and made sure everything was all clean to make a good impression.

"Perfect!" Leni cheered. "Everything's ready. This is totes going to be great! I can't wait for my friends to show up!"

After setting up the party table, Leni got a call on her phone and saw that it was her mother, so she answered it. "Hi Mom!" Leni said.

"Hi sweetie. How's it going at home?" Rita asked. "Are you all prepared for your party?"

"Oh, totes! I've got all of my snacks set up and everything," Leni answered.

"Wonderful, Leni. Just make sure you don't go overboard like you did last time. Okay?"

"No problem, Mom. It's all going to be fine. I, like, have everything planned out," Leni said, assuring her mother, but Rita wasn't completely convinced. Even so, she still gave Leni the benefit of the doubt. "Okay. Bye, Mom! Love you!" Leni said, hanging up.

After a few minutes of waiting, Leni heard a knock on the door and went to answer it. She opened the door and, to her joy, it was her first guest, Fiona.

"EEEEH! Fiona!" Leni squealed, greeting her friend with a hug, which Fiona instantly returned.

"Hey Leni!" Fiona replied. "I'm so glad to be here. Thanks for inviting me." Leni then released her from the hug and lead Fiona to the living room couch.

"I'm, like, so glad you could make it, Fiona. I'm totes excited!" Leni said.

"Me too. My one day off from work in a long time and I'm so happy I chose to spend it with you." Fiona then took a look at the table and was amazed by Leni's choice of party platter. "Awesome spread, Leni! I can't wait to chow down."

"We will, Fiona. But first, let's wait for Jackie and Mandee. Then we can start the party." Leni responded. However, it seemed that they wouldn't have to wait much longer. Leni heard another knock on the door. "Ooh, that must be them."

Leni opened the door again and was overjoyed to see her two best friends from school. All three girls squealed and gave each other their signature air kiss greeting as Leni invited them inside.

"Hey girl!" Mandee greeted.

"Great to see you, Leni!" Jackie greeted as well. "We're so happy you invited us. I've been looking forward to this for weeks."

"Me too, you guys!" Leni agreed. "Now that you're here, we can get this party started!" All four girls cheered and began their party as they intended.

Their fun began by sitting in the living room and enjoying some of the snacks that Leni made for them. Pretty soon, they began watching their favorite shows on TV and talked socially about how their weeks went at work and school. Leni was really getting into it and felt like nothing could happen to ruin it.

Unfortunately, that wasn't going to last for much longer. Right out of nowhere, Leni heard the door opening and saw someone entering her house. To her surprise, it was her little brother, Lincoln, and he was coming in while accompanied by his gaggle of friends, Clyde, Rusty, Zach, Liam, and Stella Zhau.

"Hi Leni," Lincoln greeted. Leni was quite surprised to see Lincoln come home so early and went to greet him anyway.

"Oh uh, hey Lincoln," Leni nervously greeted back. As she got up, Leni's friends were just as surprised to see her little brother enter. Fiona, for instance, was not very pleased to see the white-haired boy, considering her last encounter with him and his friend.

"Lincoln, what are you doing here? I thought you were hanging out with your friends today," Leni asked anxiously.

"Well, I was at first. But then, Lisa called me about something in her room and told me to take care of it. She said it was urgent," Lincoln explained. He then saw her friends on the couch and realized what was going on. "Oh, I didn't know you were inviting your friends over, Leni. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to intrude. My friends just had nothing else to do today, so I thought we could hang out here."

"Well, in case you haven't noticed, kid," Fiona responded surlily, "we were here first. So, why don't you and your friends go somewhere else and not bother us?" Lincoln was a little bit hurt by Fiona's tone while Jackie and Mandee were taken back by the way she talked to their friend's little brother.

"Oh sorry." Lincoln said, downcast. "I'm really sorry, Leni. We didn't mean to crash your party, we just wanted to-"

"Ooh, cookies!" Zach went ahead and took a cookie off of one of the trays, much to the shared annoyance of Leni's friends.

"Hey ladies. Lookin' for a real man?" Rusty tried to woo them by flexing his nonexistent muscles. But all he did was annoy them even more and make Leni blush in embarrassment.

"Rusty! Zach!" Lincoln immediately pulled them away from Leni's guests and started dragging them upstairs with him. "I'm so sorry, Leni. Don't worry, we won't bother you anymore. Come on guys!"

As Lincoln pulled Rusty and Zach upstairs, Liam, Clyde, and Stella saw the angry faces on Leni's friends and followed them to avoid anymore trouble. Once they were upstairs, Lincoln let them go and scolded them for being so rude to Leni's guests.

"Guys! What's the matter with you?!" Lincoln asked angrily. "They had the room first."

"Sorry Lincoln. I couldn't help it once I saw those cookies," Zach apologized.

"Well, right now, let's just leave them alone and I'll take care of this thing for Lisa. Nobody go downstairs." Lincoln ordered before heading over to Lisa's room. Once he opened the door, Lincoln saw what Lisa was referring to and told everyone to look at it with him.

"What is it, Lincoln?" Stella asked.

"Is it something alien?" Zach asked as well. But when they looked through the door, everyone saw what Lincoln was looking at and grew speechless. It appeared to be a ray gun like device with lots of wires and a glowing, blue aura around it. Lincoln wasn't sure what to make of it, but considering it was Lisa's doing, he knew it wasn't safe.

Meanwhile, the girls were resuming their party in the living room as Leni sat on the chair with a nervous smile and blush. Her smile soon faded once she saw everyone's annoyed looks, especially Fiona's.

"Ugh, your brother is such an annoying twerp, Leni," Fiona groaned, much to Leni's grief. "I can't believe you have to put up with someone like him." Jackie and Mandee were quite vexed by Fiona's mean words.

"Don't be so hard on him, Fiona." Jackie said.

"Yeah. He didn't mean anything bad," Mandee added. "Besides, at least he was nice enough to understand that we had the room first. You didn't have to be so rude to him."

"Hey, last time I met that kid he kept messing up my displays at work and got me in trouble with Mrs. Carmichael. He's a pest!"

"Come on, Fiona. Lincoln was only trying to help me get my job back. Can't you let it go and be nice to him?" Leni asked, but Fiona just folded her arms and gave her a pout.

Back in Lisa's room, Lincoln and his friends were looking at Lisa's device wondering what to do next. None of them were sure about it, so they slowly walked closer to the machine. Zach felt more excited than the others since it looked like alien technology to him, considering that he was a big fan of extraterrestrials like his parents.

"What is this thing, Lincoln?" Clyde asked.

"I don't know, Clyde. But something tells me we shouldn't mess with it. We'd better just find a way to shut it off before it can do anything. I'll call Lisa." Lincoln pulled out his phone to call Lisa about her device, but just before he could call his genius little sister, he saw Zach messing with the ray's controls. "Zach no!" Lincoln screamed, but it was too late.

The machine was turned on and Zach back away from it with the rest of the group. As it powered up, the raygun emitted energy surges along its wires and started moving until it was pointing directly at the group of six kids.

"Zach! What did you do?!" Stella asked in a panic.

"I don't know. I thought something cool would happen."

"You shouldn't have messed with it, Zach, you know how dangerous my sister's inventions can be!" Lincoln exclaimed.

"Uhh, guys," Liam began. "I think we'd better mosey along outta here." Everyone agreed with the farm boy, but it was already too late.

The ray activated and fired a powerful beam of blue energy, engulfing all six kids in its energy aura. Lincoln and all of his friends had no idea what was going to happen to them and quickly blacked out.
