Once they were upstairs, Lincoln went to do turn off the machine that Lisa asked him to turn off in her room. It seemed like it was going to be as easy as turning off a light switch, that is, if not for a few small problems along the way.
Right when Lincoln entered Lisa's room to shut off the machine, his friends came in with him and gasped in shock at the sight of the raygun-like device. The kids were all left speechless, uncertain of what to do to turn off the device, all except for Zach. Lincoln and his friends might've been nervous about the device, but Zach, on the other hand, had a different view of it.
Even though Lincoln warned him to stay away from it, the red-haired alien enthusiast ignored his warning and starting tampering with the ray's controls. Once he did, however, Zach realized what he was doing and nervously stepped away from the machine along with everyone else.
The ray began powering up as its wires sparked with electric discharges while its laser-like apparatus slowly turned and angled itself until it was pointing directly at the six children in front of it. Everyone stared angrily at Zach, admonishing him for his foolish and reckless actions before turning back to the ray as it finished charging up. As the device became active, Lincoln, Rusty, Clyde, Zach, Liam, and Stella panicked as they attempted to run away from it, but unfortunately, it was already too late for them.
Before they knew what happened, the ray immediately fired a powerful beam of blue energy, engulfing Lincoln and his five friends in its aura. There was no way for them to know what the machine was going to do to them as they were bathed in its light and felt a tingling sensation all over their bodies. It felt like the ray was hurting them, yet at the same time, it also felt like it wasn't hurting them and giving them a light tickle. Soon enough, the energy overtook their whole bodies until they blacked out.
It only took a few seconds for the ray gun to stop firing at the children. Once it did, the machine immediately powered down and let its laser dwindle until it was pointing toward the floor. The machine completely shut itself off and stopped emitting electrical discharges, resulting in a slight cloud of smoke coming out of the top of it. And once it stopped firing, the children that once stood in the spot where it fired were nowhere to be seen and there was nothing left of them except a small crater of ash.
If someone saw what happened to the children, they'd probably assume that the ray blasted them and completely blew them into oblivion. Fortunately, that wasn't going to be the case here.
Lincoln and his friends were thrown into a state of rem sleep. It wasn't a very deep sleep, so it didn't take them very long to wake up from what became of them. Lincoln was the first one to awaken and slowly opened his eyes to find himself piled up with the others.
"Ugh, guys. Wake up!" Lincoln shouted, eliciting everyone to wake up along with him.
"What happened?" Stella asked.
"I don't know," Rusty replied groggily. "All I remember is getting hit by that weird ray gun thingy and then...nothing."
"I told you not to mess with that thing, Zach!" Lincoln scolded.
"Come on, guys. I just thought it looked cool." Zach defended.
"Well, at least we're alright." Clyde added, trying to find a bright side. "Where are we?"
As everyone got out of the pile, they looked around and noticed something very different about their surroundings. They definitely weren't in Lisa's room anymore, but there was something else that they noticed to be very different about it. Everywhere they looked, everything around them looked much, much bigger. They grew nervous as Lincoln began to realize what might've happened to them.
"Um guys. I think I know what happened," Lincoln said.
"What Lincoln?" Stella asked anxiously.
"I think that machine teleported us somewhere. But it's not just that. I think we've been-" Before Lincoln could finish, him and all of his friends felt the light escape from them as they were being eclipsed by large shadows. Their confusion was slowly replaced with fear as they reluctantly looked up and saw enormous faces looking down at them.
"-I think we've been...shrunken!" Lincoln shouted.
His statement was instantly proven true as the children realized that they were indeed shrunken by Lisa's machine and looked up to see a group of gigantic, normal-sized people looming over them. To their combined horror, Lincoln, Clyde, Stella, Zach, Rusty, and Liam were surrounded by...
Who were Lincoln and his friends shrunken around?
1. Leni and her friends downstairs.
2. Lori and her friends like Carol, Becky, and Dana.
3. Lola and her pageant friends.
4. Luan and her friends from the theatre club.
5. Other choices. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
