Light shown in the backpack and Jack hesitated, unsure of whether to hide behind something or stay put. But he soon learned what was going on when he heard a gasp and the giant visage of Lauren peering right at him.
"What the hell..." she muttered. Jack began to wave and shout. "Lauren! Lauren! It's Jack! From English!". Lauren paused for a moment, having difficulty processing what was going on. "Jack? Are you serious? This isn't just my imagination, is it?". Hoping Lauren wouldn't soon misidentify him as a bug, Jack kept at it. "Yes, it's me! It isn't your imagination, I'm really this small!".
"Jack, how in the world did you end up in here? Actually, how did you even get this small in the first place?" Lauren asked as she plucked him up into her hand for a closer look. "It's a long story, but I found a shrink ray, I shrank in the after school time back in the L.A room and somehow ended up in your backpack, I know it's bizarre" Jack explained. "Why don't we get you settled in, then, and we can talk about this later. I have to get going to swim practice pretty soon" Lauren replied.
"Wait, you're on the swim team? I didn't know that," Jack noted. Lauren shrugged. "Yeah, well, we can talk about that later if you want, too, but I really need to get ready and out the door soon, so I'll keep you he-"
"Whoa, wait. My sister is also on the swim team, maybe you can take me with you to your practice? Then I can meet up with her and my mom, assuming she's there, and I can get this settled out with them and get home. Sound good?" Jack outlined. Lauren slightly frowned, disappointed. This situation was very different, she had to admit, but having a tiny friend somewhat interested her. Lauraen sighed as she agreed to take him with her. "Awesome, thanks so much, Lauren! I absolutely owe you one," exclaimed Jack. "Oh yeah? Well I just might have to take you up on that, Jack" Lauren smirked, "we might not know each other well, right now, but I wouldn't mind getting closer acquainted". Unsure of her intentions, Jack nervously laughed and thoughtlessly agreed.
"Anyways, I'm going to go change into my swimming suit, then we'll be ready to go to the pool," Lauren said. Jack nodded in understanding and Lauren went to change. When she came back, Lauren was dressed in a one-piece black swimming suit with the school logo on the front of the suit. Jack gawked for a moment, taking in Lauren's features which were accentuated by the swimming suit. Lauren noticed and blushed. "C-come on, you idiot, stop staring". Jack backed out of his trance-like state and apologized. "I'm sorry, I just thought you looked good". Lauren giggled. "Of course you do. Come on, let's go. And when your with me, try not to ogle so much. It makes you look like a perv" Lauren joked. Jack laughed and hopped onto Lauren's hand and the two then went to the car and drove away for the pool.
