Chapter #4

The bottle falls out of her pocket and shatters...

    by: lcssmne Author IconMail Icon
The bottle falls out of her pocket and shatters. Due to the students yelling during practice and the sounds of the swords clashing, no one hears the bottle shattering and Jessica's pocket wasn't facing the other students, so no one saw it.

Jessica backs away after charging at Marcus and steps right into the large puddle of goo. She doesn't notice she's stuck until she tries to move her right foot forward. "The fuck?" she says. Jessica takes off her helmet to get a better view of her feet and sees a large puddle beneath them that's keeping her from moving. "W-what is this?!" Marcus takes off his helmet as well and walks towards Jessica who's attempting to move. "Jess? Are you ok?" "Marcus! I-I can't move my feet!" Marcus looks at her bare feet and sees that she's glued to the hardwood floor. The teacher and the other students walk towards them to see what's wrong. Jessica explains her situation while attempting to lift her bare feet from the floor, only for strands of goo that are practically fused to her soles to force them back down. She can only lift them for approximately 8 centimeters. No matter what she does, pulling at her leg, trying to jump, shifting her body left and right, none of that gets her anywhere. Even when getting help from the students, grabbing her hands and pulling forward, wrapping their arounds around her belly and pulling her entire body upwards, trying to carry her and once again pulling upwards, there's no progress.

When she looks around desperately, Jessica then notices the broken bottle of glue on the floor next to her left foot and remembers. "The magic glue! The stuff I wanted to try! My feet are stuck and it's my own fault!" Jessica starts getting depressed, but Marcus grabs her hands and says "Don't panic, Jess. We'll find a way to get you out. I promise" "Maybe there's something on the label" says their teacher. Jessica ducks and grabs the remains of the bottle to see, but says "That can't be. The label didn't said any--" It's then when something appears on the label that reads "Once the glue is applied it will stay in place....."
