"Piii... Pi..."
A small jolt sent Samus up with a start. She panted, feeling the sparks of electricity run through the liquid dripping off her body. Judging by the sickening, natural fluids soaking her from ponytail to boots, she'd been bobbing there, unconscious, for quite a while.
Before her, shining in the darkness, two pinkish cheeks sparkled, full of relief. "Pi... Pichu!" The mouse instantly jumped towards her arms, his squat body snuggling inwards - seeming not to care about how wet she was.
"Alright, it's alright. We're okay." Seated uncomfortably on an organic, spongy flooring, the hunter scratched behind Pichu's triangular ears. His purrs echoed in the pulsing, warm caverns around. A small, subconscious sigh from Princess Peach's soft voice answered back, and made their environment tremble.
Samus got to her feet, trying to keep steady as the meaty surfaces beneath her boots shifted. "So. She really ate us. The Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. We're inside her body." She tasted the air. It smelt... Peachy. The presence of her voice, heartbeats, and natural fragrance, were all encompassing. As much as it seemed like the deep cave systems of Brinstar, or the damp, nurturing environment of SR388, there was no doubt that this was the monarch's body. "The brothers. The rulers of Sarasaland and the Comet Observatory. Her own subjects. Even divinity from Skyworld couldn't escape her... gluttony."
In fright, Pichu curled up around her, his short, black tail brushing and swaying against her ankle.
Samus leaned over. "Don't worry. We just need to look for them... and whoever's really behind this. And that starts with finding out just where we are." They took a moment to drink in the surroundings - almost literally, considering the layers of wetness coating everything around them. Slow, rhythmic murmurs, almost peaceful, rocked the floor in a steady sequence. In some areas, the pulse of blood through Peach's veins felt stronger, warmer - a bassy drumming as she slept.
"Piii!" A few sparks from The electric Pokemon revealed little in the distance but yet more puddles; and more pinkish walls.
"Judging by the pulse, and the breaths, we may be close to her abdomen. The very heart of it." She clicked her tongue. "I could see more and cover more ground with my Power Suit. But there's no trace of the suit, even if I call to it." Samus' gloved fingers touched a rubbery wall, sinking in. "Perhaps it's already been broken down into the nutrients around us. How that inhalation worked is a mystery."
With his sensitive ears perked up, Pichu followed a pounding, crackling noise. "Pichu... Pichu." He waddled forward, occasional thunderbolts lighting the paths through the wide expanse for Samus. They couldn't help but be on guard at every drip, every shifting shake or shadow. Unarmed and in an inhospitible environment, the wrong step could send them tumbling down an organic sinkhole. Enemies could be infecting Peach's body during the time they were all unconscious - and the princess' own immune system might see the two themselves as threats. And oxygen felt heavy and limited...
Nevertheless, the Pokemon moved with an anxious, eager energy. He saw bioluminescent flashes in the distance. Feet tapping in place, he sent sparks back to it.
Panting, breathing in the murky air, they advanced. More shocking currents flew out in a steady tempo beneath them. They fizzled, sparked, and crackled, glowing in blue and yellow that was hard on the eyes in the darkness. And at the end of the trail of electricity...
"Pi-KAAAAA... Pi-KAAAAAA!"
The other electric Pokemon was repeatedly shocking his surroundings. The fleshy, rubbery walls seemed to block out the current. But Pikachu still kept sending out zap after zap, attacking where he could.
"Pipichu!" Pichu waved his hand over, voltage erupting from smiling cheeks.
"Pika!" Finding his companion, Pikachu scurried over, dancing around the lighter yellow mouse, and the space warrior. Their tails brushed together, wiping wetness off each other.
Leaning over, Samus let out an exhale. "Great work, Pichu. We were eaten together, but Pikachu ended up so far away, I feared the worst. The princess' body is far vaster then I imagined."
"Pikachu." He put a hand to her leg, patting it.
"Pichu!" The other Pokemon cheered in reassurance.
"Right. Focus on the mission." Samus gave them a thumbs-up.
Both small Pokemon rubbed their reddish cheeks. They interlocked their tails, sending electricity through each other. They ran in circles, static energy gaining between them.
Samus observed them for a moment, before nodding. "Oh, I see. Good thinking, if you share energy..."
In a shared, synchronous blast, the Chus sent out an illuminating flash of electric energy. With the bright light, they could finally see in the darkness, look at the biological landscape they'd been running through... And it shocked them back.
"Pichuuuuh..." The smaller one shivered back, beady eyes shut.
"Pikah..." The stouter one got on both hind legs, mouth agape in surprise.
"So, that's where we are..." The half-Chozo crossed her arms.
Outside, Peach sighed in her sleep.
The three of them were inside...
