Chapter #5Targeting Judy by: Ëtalfni   "I can think of a certain bunny who would be the perfect target for this little toy," said Nick with a huge grin on his face. "She would be absolutely floored that something like that exists. It would be an amazing tool for our line of work, sneaking in to places."
"Well, I hope she likes it then," Stephanie winked at him. "And I hope you have a little fun with it too."
"Oh, I intend to."
With that, Nick casually paid for the shrink ray and hurried out with his prize in tow. It costed him most of his savings, something like this wasn't cheap after all. But after seeing what it could do firsthand, it was worth every penny. Especially after he introduced Judy to it's powers. Nick couldn't wait to see the look on her face.
Keeping the ray gun stowed away in his pocket, Nick made his way back to the ZPD to continue his day to look for an opportunity to introduce Judy to the gun's properties.
It had been lunch when he had left to go shopping, having seen Stephanie's store once and been curious about it. He had gone there after Judy mentioned that they needed a new break in their case within Little Rodentia. Mister Big, of all mammals, had approached them regarding a theft in his businesses there. Being the smallest mammals on the force, Nick and Judy were picked to handle the delicacy of the case. Little did anyone know, they were about to get smaller in more ways than one.
Nick found Judy right where he left her. She was pouring over maps and lines in one of the private offices of the precinct, trying to put together exactly how they were going to investigate Little Rodentia for the thieves. Especially since the last time Judy had been to the district, she had rampaged through the streets chasing Duke Weaselton.
"Nick, there you are," Judy said. "Did you enjoy your lunch?"
"In a way," Nick replied, having forgotten all about getting food. "Don't you think you should get something to eat too?"
"Maybe later. We're so close, Nick. I just wish there was a way we could investigate these supposed hideouts of these thieves. It's so troublesome to have to rely on witnesses rather than do the investigations ourselves since we're too big."
"Well, maybe all we need is a change in perspective..."
"Maybe. I just wish I could shrink down in size for a day. We could get so much done with this case."
Nick smiled to himself as he stepped behind Judy. This was almost too easy as he pulled out the ray gun without her even noticing, her being so focused on the papers in front of her. Without her ears, Judy stood at about two feet tall while the average mouse was about two inches tall. It would be such a simple thing to blast Judy when she wasn't looking. But how small would Nick make her?   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
