"I'll take the chalk," said Bellwether. "I'm rather curious about it's properties."
"A very wise choice! If it all doesn't work on, then you can just use it for its intended purpose, after all."
"Exactly my thinking..."
Bellwether then quietly paid for her purchase before thanking the giant goat and leaving to consider her plans. In order for the chalk to work, she was going to have to get up close and personal with Judy Hopps. Preferably when she was alone. She just had to insert herself into Judy's schedule discretely. Luckily, Bellwether still had a few contacts within the ZPD. None of them would do anything that would risk losing their jobs, of course. But if her request was so innocent that no one would suspect any wrong doing.
Dawn reached out to the most trustworthy of the bunch and ordered them to take the orange chalk piece and draw a circle with a radius precisely of three feet in one of the ZPD's supply closets. Then leave the chalk on the floor.
Bellwether handed off the chalk and waited for about an hour before facing the brick side of the building with her own blue chalk stick.
"Okay then," she whispered to herself. "Let's see if this works or not."
Measuring precisely, Bellwether drew out the circle on the wall. As soon as the lines connected, the empty space within the circle suddenly emitted a blue light before changing into the vision of a dark storage room. Curious, Bellwether stepped on through and found herself in the downstairs supply closet in the ZPD precinct one building.
"Amazing!" she said as she looked around and picked up the orange chalk left on the floor. "Well, that was test one. Now for test two..."
She covered up the hole left by the portals by quietly moving a few boxes in front of it, she didn't want to get ride of her only escape route, after all. When that was done, Bellwether took the orange chalk and drew up a rather large circle on the wall, not much longer than the one she walked in through. No portal opened yet though. Not until Dawn drew a much smaller blue portal next to her, just large enough to fit her hoof through. Instantly, both portals activated.
Bellwether peaked through the tinier portal and saw on the other side a miniature version of the storage closet she was standing in. As she reached her hoof inside, she was taken aback as her hoof appeared through the orange portal only massive in size.
"Excellent," she said aloud. "It works!"
Unfortunately, she wasn't able to test further than that because as soon as she pulled her hoof back through, the door to the closet began to jiggle. Dawn wasn't even given the time to hide herself as in walked...
