"I can't believe your parents did this to you." Lexi cleans a tear, forming in her left eye and calms. "And you don't have other relatives? Your grandparents or an uncle?"
The twins shook their heads. "Our parents stopped talking to their families years ago." Sara replies.
"And even if we try, last month, they started to tell everybody that we died.' Martina adds.
The blonde teen didn't know what to do, she couldn't just leave them and pretend that nothing happened. "Listen, girls. How about you stay with me?" Lexi proposes.
"Really?" Sarah asks.
"You mean it?" Martina adds.
Lexi nods. "Of course." Suddenly, the three of them hear a horn. "Shit, it's my mom. I'm sorry for this, girls." She quickly grabs the twins and drops them inside one of her bags.
"Hey, sweetie, hurry. I don't want to miss my favourite show." Lexi's mom, Lucy, calls.
"Coming, mom." The blonde girl grabs the bags and moves forward.
A few minutes later, Lexi arrives to her home.
"Okay, dear. We made it on time." Lucy says. "Do you want me to help you with your bags?" She extends her hand.
"No!" Lexi intervenes and takes them first. Noticing that she overreacted, she giggles. "Thanks, but I'm excited to try my new shoes on." She closes the door of the van and runs inside the house.
After she enters her bedroom, she locks the door and takes out the twins. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah." Martina recovers her breath.
"We almost don't make it." Sara comments. "Why you want us to stay hidden?"
