The Fae found an interesting building, in it were a bunch of maidens taking care of their ladies... at least that's what it would've been in its time and culture. But with these humans the women were paying for the service and they were just common folk.
Messing with ladies of the court had always been fun for the Fae, they cared a lot about their looks. So it was fun to swap their face with a Dwarf, giving them a beard to go along with it. It was especially fun to swap the face back to see the angry Dwarf as his precious beard was shaved off. There was a lady that refused to shave the beard she was given to avoid another diplomatic incident, the Fae decided to see how long she was willing to keep it up. It wouldn't swap her face back unless she shaved, it turns out she was more concerned about diplomacy than her looks because she took the beard to her grave.
So having a salon where people often came to improve their looks was way too tempting a target. The Fae focused on the pool of water that was slowly infiltrating its coffin, it cast a simple spell, creating a connection to a mirror in the salon. It picked one that had a street view as well as most of the shop floor. Anyone it could see was now a victim of its powers...
