Ranger

"And then I went sliding down the trunk, and when I landed at his feet, all the dwarf could say was, 'That still only counts as one."

The whole tavern roared in laughter, and another round of drinks is brought to your table, courtesy of one of the many tavern patrons hanging on every word of your mentor.

You wave off the serving wench wanting to serve you another drink. If you drank all the liquor put in front of you, your kidney and liver would have given up on you long ago.

There's a lot of reasons you don't drink anything but small beer, and very little of that. You're five foot tall, and if you ever weighed a hundred pounds, it was because you were carrying rocks in your pockets. Anything harder than the cup of small beer you've been nursing all night would put you out like a light.

For the last three years, it's been just you and him in the woods. And since Armarieja is gay, you haven't had to worry about fending off his amorous advances on those moonlit nights when you two were camped out in forest glades.

Armarieja was a great teacher when it was just you and him in the forest. Once you got back to civilization, though, you two migrated from one tavern to another, with Armarieja trading war stories for drinks.

It was fun for the first few days, but it's been going on for a month now, and the only thing you do is get Armarieja up to his room at the end of the night, all the while fending off the two legged wolves who expect a tumble with Armarieja's apprentice when the stories and the booze stop flowing.

Technically, your training with Armarieja isn't supposed to end for another month, but you're fairly sure you've learn everything you can about pub crawling the first few nights back in civilization. The only reasons you haven't left Armarieja already is the loyalty you feel for him (you have spent three years training with him, after all), and all the fact that you really have no idea where to go.

This all changes when you have a conversation with
