One book that caught Stinky's attention was a superhero comic book volume titled "Windbreaker Vol. 1: First Big Break." The cover featured a blonde woman with two long pigtails wearing bright green-and-white spandex, as well as a pair of bronze goggles, with one of her eyes showing behind the lens. She was looking over her shoulder, towards the reader, having her back and butt clearly displayed, topped off with a cartoon fart cloud that had the credits for the writer and artist who made the series.
As soon as she saw it, Stinky couldn't help but laugh. "Pffft, hahaha! No way... a farting superhero?" Stinky took a step closer to get a better look at the cover. "Huh. And it's a girl too." Stinky stared at it for a bit before she smirked and said, "This might actually be kinda cool." She reached her hand out and grabbed the volume, then pulled it towards her - she looked over the cover one last time, then turned it around so that she could see what the back had to say.
"Alright, what's her deal?" Stinky then began reading the description on the back cover to herself. "The start of a whole new adventure! Meet Windbreaker - she's a young woman who ended up gaining super-powered flatulence after having some chili served to her by her soon-to-be arch-rival, Chili Con Carne, a dastardly chef who uses only the most SUPREME ingredients when making his meals." Stinky chuckled. "OK, wow. So, it was something that she ate that gave her super farts. Makes sense, I guess." She then continued reading. "Follow her story as she learns to control her newfound farting abilities and decides to use them to fight crime on the streets of her home city. Windbreaker is a whole new kind of superhero, using unique strategies granted by her gas, meeting all sorts of friends and foes along the way, and it all starts here!"
After reading the back, Stinky remarked, "This sounds kinda stupid... but, also kinda cool at the same time. I've never seen a farting superhero before! Maybe she can give me some ideas on how I can use my own farts." Stinky put the comic under her arm and made her way back down the stairs and towards Dom.
Stinky placed the comic between her and Dom and said, "Alright Dom, I found something." Dom looked at the cover and simply nodded. "I'm glad you were able to find something, Elueze. Do you have your library card?" Stinky was a little surprised that Dom didn't comment on the comic at all, but then she figured, Well Don knows how gassy I am already - guess he figured I'd be into this sorta stuff. Stinky pulled out her library card and handed it to Dom, who then scanned it to confirm her checkout. He handed Stinky back her card and then commented, "She looks like you, doesn't she?" Stinky raised an eyebrow. "Huh? You mean her?" she responded, pointing at the comic. Dom nodded and added, "Indeed. She has the same blonde hair and blue eyes that you do." Stinky took another look at the cover to see what Dom was talking about. It didn't occur to her before, but she saw what he had meant - Windbreaker's hair color matched Stinky's very closely, but she couldn't see her eyes due to the goggles on her face. Stinky then looked back up at Dom and said, "How do you know she has blue eyes?" Dom replied "I sometimes like to flip through the pages of these graphic novels while I am cleaning the store."
Stinky couldn't help but chuckle under her breath. "Wait, so you've read this before, Dom?" Dom chuckled back and said, "Not necessarily, just flipped through the pages some. I remember reading these superhero serials back when I was your age, Elueze. I suppose I was just feeling rather nostalgic." Stinky chuckled again. "Makes sense - I just didn't think you'd look at something like this, I guess." Dom smiled and replied, "I will say, it is a most unusual premise for a superhero, but creative all the same. I assume you took interest in her because of that?" Stinky rolled her eyes and smiled back at Dom. Knew it, she said to herself. "Alright, ya got me, Dom. I know it's kinda dumb, but I thought it might be cool too."
Dom shook his head and said, "I don't see it that way - you needn't be ashamed of the things you take interest in. If anything, I think it's great to have something you find fascinating, regardless of how it may seem at first glance." Stinky had a soft smile on her face. She always thought Dom was an earnest kind of man, and with his mild manner of speaking, it make him very friendly and understanding. "In fact," Dom continued, "I would very much like you tell me what you thought of this book after you have read it." Stinky's smile widened. "Alright, you got it!" she exclaimed. Stinky grabbed the comic off the counter and put it back under her arm. "I'll be back after I've finished - later, Dom!" She waved at Dom before she made her way towards the entrance. Dom waved back and replied, "I await your return, Elueze."
After Stinky left the library, she stood a few steps in front of the door, considering what she wanted to do next. Hmm, I should probably head home so I can read this. Buuut, maybe I can hang around here for a bit longer, see what other fun stuff there is to do.
