"Why, yes. How observant." She positions herself behind the boots and takes one on her arms. "You see, fitting for a genius such as myself I had an amazing idea. I already have a very useful mechanical arm, so why not keep going and make mechanical boots? These have a lot of functions, new and old! Like my arm, they can shoot magical flames and ice, detach and be remotely controlled, and be used to cast a number of spells without using my own magical energy! They also have a stealth mode that silences footsteps, built-in magical propulsion systems, and moreover if I tap my heels together three times I can teleport! And also-" Da Vinci goes on and on about the boots' many features at such pace that you begin to lose yourself in her words.
"Yes, yes, they're awesome, I can see that. Why are they a secret project though? They look finished and I don't see why it must be so secretive..." You say. Da Vinci immediately stops her rambling and her expression darkens.
"...You see, I have made a terrible mistake." The atmosphere gets heavier and you feel a chill. What could the supergenius Leonardo Da Vinci done wrong in regards to these boots..?
"I measured them wrong and now they don't fit me!!!" She cries out, somewhat cutely you must admit. You are worried everyone in Chaldea heard her scream and is now heading to the workshop.
"Twice! I made the boots twice with different measurements I took of my feet and they are still wrong! Romani isn't here to help me anymore and I'm too embarrassed to ask the staff for help!" She keeps going. Suddenly, her stare settles sharply on you, her intense blue eyes staring right into your soul. You begin to sweat, wondering what is she thinking about...
"Oooh, I just had the greatest idea... You, Last Master of Humanity, you will help me measure my feet! As Chaldea's current director I order you to do it!" She graps you fimly by the shoulders, dropping the heavy metal boot onto the floor, releasing a terrible clanking noise.
