The villagers looked at the horizon and saw her next to the mountains in the valley. She has entered the woods just a month ago and it was only hope that she would not change her speed. She was unpredictable in her ways and her deeds and no man knew what to expect next of her. She was slow. Very slow. Every one of her mighty steps took about a month before being finished and every month the earth shook violently as a result. Today was one of the days of the fall and the village was prepared as they where for the last few generations. And just like the last few generations they held a festivity in her honer. Dancing around the fire and singing praises to the goddess. Hoping this would make her change direction. Today was a very special day since it was harvesting time so the villagers gathered their best goods and piled them up on the shrine in her honor. Always in the hope that she would spare their village as she made her approach. Some scouts went near her and saw the havoc she caused on her way. Like a terrible storm plowing through the woods. The eldest of the tribe even told of crashing huts and dying people caused by her steps as the sonic boom hit them and the earth roared under her might. But every one of these steps brought fruits from the trees and helped churning the earth and flooding the fields with fresh water coming from deep below the soil.
It was getting dark and the sound of breaking wood echoed towards them. They knew that it was time to hunker down and only a few minutes later everyone opened their mouth and sang as they sat on the floor. Their ears covered. Even the smallest and youngest knew what to do to not be a victim of the sound which will rush over them in a few seconds. The combined sounds of hundreds of throats as they emptied their lungs to prevent them from rupturing was like a song sent to heaven itself to make the goddess aware of their presence and to persuade her to leave this route she was taking since it led right towards them.
