You made your way along the wall, making sure you had no chance of being stepped on. You knew you were probably a goner if you tried running across the floor out in the open. Ten minutes later you had made it to the stools currently scooted under the bar side of the kitchen counter, and could see Pata's placemat where you put their dishes when it was time to eat. It was hanging off the edge; perhaps enough for you to climb up it!
The stool, it was easily as large as an apartment building! You had a lot of climbing to do if you had a chance of getting someone's attention. You could hear Pata making something herself, and you knew that could only mean trouble, as these kobolds had a knack for making quite the mess, you've quickly come to learn!
You thought it would be an impossible feat, but as you made your way halfway up, arms hurting from the exertion you put them under, you discovered all sorts of notches and imperfections in these discount stools you had gotten from the thrift store. You never thought to look at their beauty; just make sure they could hold your weight.
FINALLY after, what felt like your arms were gonna pop out of their sockets and your heart fall outta your chest, you made it to the lip of the seat, and grabbed on, with the last stretch of your strength and managed to pull yourself up onto it. You crawled towad the center to flop onto your side and take a moment to just breathe. Your muscles suddenly started to feel the burning pain they'd been holding back up until now.
You looked forward, which was basically upwards, and saw the hanging placemat for plates and bowls. It looked reachable from this viewpoint. You have to go get Pata's attention, but your lungs burned, and you just wanted to rest.
