Rouge flinched. Damn, she thought she had more time. Knuckles stormed towards her, ready to fight. He seemed to freeze for a moment, looking surprised when he got closer, but Rouge decided it would be better to use the opportunity to escape than to try and figure out what had given him pause.
"Sorry, can't talk! I have a busy schedule!" Rouge smiled as she lifted off of the ground, "Take good care of that emerald for me!" She blew one last kiss toward the angry echidna and flew away, just as Knuckles regained awareness of what was happening. Rouge stifled a giggle as "Don't come back!" was shouted after her. They both knew she would be back.
As she sailed through the air, she couldn't help but feel that something was a tad off about her flight trajectory. She seemed to be sinking downward just a bit faster than usual. Have I put on weight? She thought to herself. She touched down at the first landmass she saw and looked herself over. Everything seemed normal. That is, until she looked at her chest. Her eyes widened as she realized that her chest seemed a lot more tightly pressed inside of her breastplate than usual. Had it been this tight when she'd gotten dressed this morning? She couldn't remember.
"Well, that explains why he was so surprised." Rouge smiled to herself, squeezing her breasts and feeling their increased weight. She thought she was too old to have any more growth spurts, although she didn't mind being wrong.
With that mystery solved, Rouge took flight once again, heading towards...
