A run-in with the Master Emerald

Finally, after all of this time, Rouge had finally found her chance to obtain the Master Emerald. The Love of her life, the greatest gem she'd ever laid eyes on. Though she'd arrived on Angel Island simply to tease Knuckles, she'd found it to be her lucky day as he seemed to be someplace else at the moment.

Unable to resist any longer, she lept toward the emerald and hugged it tightly, overcome with excitement. But suddenly, as she embraced the emerald, she felt a spark of energy fly into her, causing her to jump back a bit.
