APTX-4869 antidote gone wrong

    by: Metalix64
It was a typical day for Conan Edogawa, the brilliant High school detective who turned into a child due to the effects of APTX 4869. He had just got home from school and was relaxing on the couch, reading a mystery novel when he received a call from Haibara. Apparently, she was close to completing a permanent antidote.

"Kudo-kun, I have good news for you," Haibara said calmly. "I've finally found a way to reverse the effects of APTX 4869. I'm confident that this time, it will work."

Conan's heart skipped a beat at the news. For the last six months, he had been stuck in a child's body, unable to be with the love of his life.

"That's amazing news, Haibara!" Conan exclaimed. "When can I take the antidote?"

"As soon as possible," Haibara replied. "Just be warned, there may be some side effects. Are you sure you want to go through with this?"

"Of course," Conan said without hesitation. "I can't wait to finally get back to my old life. I'll do whatever it takes, even if it means dealing with some side effects."

With that said, Conan quickly left the Mouri Detective Agency and made him and made his way to Professor Agasa's house. When Conan arrived, he was met with the reddish-haired scientist, who was waiting for him with a small capsule in her hand.

"Where's the Professor?" Conan asked.

"He's out running errands," Haibara replied. "Are you ready Kudo-kun?"

Conan nodded eagerly and Haibara handed him the capsule. He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he was making the right decision, but then he thought of all the cases he had been unable to solve as a child and decided it was worth the risk. He took a deep breath and swallowed the capsule.

As the pill traveled down his throat and into his stomach, Conan felt a strange burning sensation wash over him. He cringed in pain as his eyes started to water and his body began to shake.

Conan choked back a cry of pain as the burning pain worsened. He felt like his body was being squeezed as if it was being forced into a tiny space. This was different from his usual transformation into Kudo Shinichi. And it was far more painful, Conan was beginning to think he may not survive this agonizing experience. Eventually, the young detective passed out from the intensity of the pain.

When Conan woke up his vision was blurry, but he immediately knew that something was wrong. He slowly sat up, inspecting his body. He seemed to be wearing a makeshift hospital gown, made from a piece of cloth. But that wasn't the strangest part. He looked down and saw that his body was still that of a child. The antidote seemed to be a complete failure.

But then Conan noticed something even more peculiar. He was lying on an expansive wooden surface that seemed to go on for miles. He stood up, rubbing his eyes and trying to make sense of what was happening.

"Where am I?" He said groggily. "Haibara! Where are you?"

"I'm right behind you." Haibara's voice answered back, sounding much deeper and louder than usual.

Conan cringed at the sheer volume of Haibara's voice and slowly turned around, expecting to see her standing there. But instead, what he saw shocked him to his very core. Haibara was standing in front of him, but she was at least a hundred times his size. Conan's heart raced as he realized that the antidote had not only failed to restore his original size but had also shrunk him even further.

"H-Haibara, what happened!?" Conan asked, his voice trembling.

"It seems that the antidote had an unexpected side effect," Haibara explained "As you can see for yourself, you're still a child but now your body has been reduced to a fraction of its original size.

The miniature detective was in disbelief at the bizarre situation he found himself in. He could have never foreseen such an outcome, and he couldn't help but feel like this was some crazy dream.

"N-no way this can really be happening," Conan stuttered, still trying to wrap his head around the situation. "I must be dreaming!"

Conan nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard Haibara moving in closer to him. She cast a shadow over his tiny body as she leaned in to get a better look at him. Conan couldn't help but feel intimidated by Haibara's towering presence, even if she meant no harm.

"I'm afraid this is no dream, Kudo-kun," Haibara said softly. "The reality is that you're almost as small as the average household insect."

As Haibara spoke, her warm breath blew onto Conan's tiny form like a gust of wind. Fortunately for the shrunken boy, her breath was fresh with a hint of mint and the sweet smell of tea.

"Geez, you don't have to compare me to bugs," Conan grumbled, feeling frustrated and defeated. "I'm not that small."

Haibara let out a small chuckle and stood up at her full height, towering over Conan like a skyscraper. "Let's find out, shall we?"

She walked over to the kitchen to find a ruler. Conan could feel the vibrations of her footsteps as she moved, each step feeling like an earthquake to his tiny body. This made him feel even more self-consciousness about his diminutive height.

Once Haibara was out of sight, he folded his arms and narrowed his eyes in annoyance. "She's enjoying this a little too much," he thought to himself.

Haibara returned to Conan with a ruler and held it up next to him. "Let's see how small you really are," she said with a smirk.

Conan scowled and gritted his teeth as Haibara measured his height. "As I suspected," Haibara said. "You're about an inch tall,"

The tiny sleuth let out a sigh of frustration and furiously scratched his head. "Damn it! I can't believe this," he said, his voice laced with disappointment. "I was supposed to be restored to my original self! I even planned on paying Ran a surprise visit!"

As soon as those words left his mouth, Conan realized he hadn't thought about how Ran would factor in this.

"Ran! What am I supposed to tell her?" He exclaimed.

"She can't see you like this," Haibara stressed. "Have you forgotten about the danger you'd be putting her in out about your true identity?

"It's not like if she saw me like this, she would know it's related to me being Shinichi. We could just tell I could just tell her that one of the Professor's experiments did this to me." Conan argued.

Haibara rolls her eyes at Conan's suggestion, but she decides not to argue further. For now, all she could do was figure out what went wrong with the antidote and find a way to fix it.
